Repetitious background music was distracting. Much better to just hear your lovely voice and the sounds of your garden.

Good morning. Do you know one benefit to the white flies I found in my garden today? They caused me to find you! You are just lovely as is your garden. I don't often subscribe after watching just one video, but this was an exception today! I garden in a desert in New Mexico, USA

THANKS I believe this is the reason I have issues with fungus. I thought they were a nuisance. I did not know white flies spread disease. Another great video.

The Canna Rust (check out our episode on Canna Rust) is a fungal disease that attacks Canna. The spores on the leaves appear as an orange-reddish powder. The only way to deal with these spores is to either use a Neem oil spray or if all your leaves are infected, remove those infected and use a fungicide. The problem here is if the spores infect the crown or the rhizome, you canna dies.
Though i had an infestation of whiteflies, on inspection of my canna leaves, they were fine. Just check your canna leaves and if you are not sure DM me with a photo.

Alice I’m having a small problem with the bugs eating my Cana leaves and I was wondering if it is safe to use dishwater to spray them? Thank you 🙂

I just watched her video on cannas. She said caterpillars and snails damage leaves.

With slugs, i would soapy water. However with the caterpillar if it is server there are pesticides for chewing insects. This would stop the egg production cycle

Hi it could be the caterpillar leaf roller that attacks canna leaves. You will notice that horizontal holes running along the leaves. Check my episode on the Leaf roller.
However slugs just wash them down with soapy water.
