This movie pulled me in and held till the end. The phone call from Billy revealed the reality of the 50's and the conversation with the woman as well. The final scene was so emotional it haunted me for days. I love this movie
So much yes. I literally just finished it. And holy shit. It's spectacular. Most original film I've seen since the first time I watched I Sell The Dead with Dominique Monahan.
I described this movie like a visual podcast. As it turns out, the director purposely wanted to make us feel that it could be a podcast. He accomplished his goal, among many others. Great Director. Amazing movie.
So so unique and so well done. Actors are terrific and you need to watch it several times to pick up everything Everett is saying. The cinematography is just outstanding. Bravo! Would love a dvd release with extras.
Loved this film. Probably the most creative thing I've seen in a long time. Shame the profane moderator thought he needed to shout like he was in a wrestling arena when he introduced the director, lol. Wishing great things for Andrew in the future.
Yeah, I quit watching movies and my kids said "you'll like this one... its about you." I'm a Twilight zone fan. I love this movie and rewatch selected scenes with friends. And yes that mod was kooky and obnoxious.
The night the final scene was shot at "The Hangar" , the gym I played basketball in high school, I was working at the Family Dollar behind the school. It was packed wall to wall cars and my ex-wife served refreshments after wards at the end of the movie party..!!!
I spent a few years as a projectionist. Just seeing them working the radio and switchboard equipment was cool. Reminds me of those late nights threading 35mm through projectors listening to radio and watching movies.
This movie was so beautiful and awesome, from its creation to the film itself. I was really lucky to stumble upon the existence of this film in a comment section. I loved it so much!
Fantastic movie with great acting, writing, production, and editing. A lot had to come together for the movie to be this good. Sierra McCormick and Jake Horowitz deliveries of the lines was incredible. I also really liked how cute Sierra was when she would take off running. I did not read very far down though the comments, but am sup-prized nobody mentioned Sierra McCormick's running in the movie.
I cannot tell you how much I absolutely adore this film. I'm glad to see so many others do to. And is it me or does Andrew Patterson look like a cross between late 80's Lance Guest and Edgar Wright?
I noticed that Cayuga Productions in upstate NY were Rod Serling's place and the call letters should have started with a K so WOTW may be a throwback to something to do with early TZone days too?
Rob Zombie...nahhh just kidding....this guy made probably one of the best "low budget" sci fi's since Gareth Edwards Monsters. Just as effective. Just when you thought you couldn't manage a big reveal as in the ending of this film ....they pull it off. Amazing score and just all around elements came together on this. Definitely the actor who played "Billy" over the phone call did a terrific job. Over the phone convo's are typically so contrived and lousy. I was actually getting caught into it.
_Yaaaay!_ Finally saw it tonight during a thunder storm. Loved the camera work. That *Fay* can sure run fast! The exposition given by *Mabel Blanche* was awesome. My life's complete. 👍
Jake mumbled too much. Could only understand about 20 words he spoke in the first 18 minutes of the film. Defeats the purpose of having 18 minutes straight of dialogue.

I. Love. This. Film.

I feel the EXACT same way.
Beautiful movie. The switchboard scene is mesmerizing.
So hypnotic, absolutely amazing film!
I think all scenes are!

Yeah the moderator was super obnoxious. He had a completely inappropriate style for the mood of the event.
i thought we was going to introduce John Cena
I watched this last night and haven't stopped thinking about it yet. I hope we'll see more from all these creators.

A fantastic film AND a piece of art.
This was movie is already a classic. It was absolutely amazing. 💫
The scene with the old lady and Billy scenes voice really was amazing amongst the amazing performances from the leads
This movie is a Masterpiece!
The actress who played Hazel should have gotten a best supporting role nomination. The actor who played Billy was just wonderful too.
I cannot believe how long it has taken for word of this film to reach me! From the opening, just beautiful.
CAN'T WAIT FOR ANDREW'S NEXT FILM
I spent a few years as a projectionist. Just seeing them working the radio and switchboard equipment was cool. Reminds me of those late nights threading 35mm through projectors listening to radio and watching movies.
One of the best film I have seen recently! Unbelievable performance by the actors and great story telling

One of my favorite sub genres, 50s UFO paranoia!!
I loved it!!
That tracking/drone shot was amazing
Wasn't a drone it actually was go kart
Great film - everyone did a brilliant job ... i was thrown right back into a twilight zone episode - edge of the seat greatness ... well done.
I just saw it and really loved it. Makes you want to pay attention with a fantastic camera work and intensity I have not seen in a long long time !!!
I had the exact same thoughts. You forgot how cool the music was though! It is a fantastic film.
Best film I’ve seen maybe ever! man, I’m blown away. I’m late to it but man!
Absolute masterpiece of a film
Andrew is clearly very talented. Let's hope he continues on his path and creates even better work.
This filme was super cool.. actually original and interesting, every scene.

This movie was highly unique, I loved it!
This movie was WILD.
A jewel. Period.
Mannn I’m just ready to see if I’m in the damn movie I was in the gym scene with the band
I cannot tell you how much I absolutely adore this film. I'm glad to see so many others do to.
And is it me or does Andrew Patterson look like a cross between late 80's Lance Guest and Edgar Wright?
Patterson is like if Alan Moore wasn't a anarchistic ultra grumpy wizard.
hah haaaaaaah !
Brilliant.
Anyone else think Mcready in The Thing.
I noticed that Cayuga Productions in upstate NY were Rod Serling's place and the call letters should have started with a K so WOTW may be a throwback to something to do with early TZone days too?
Good God that distortion coming over Everett’s broadcast was straight up creepy!
Instant classic A+
Hope it comes to disc?!
Great movie production A++
I was so worried there would be nothing else after Peter Greenaway 🥰
Rob Zombie...nahhh just kidding....this guy made probably one of the best "low budget" sci fi's since Gareth Edwards Monsters. Just as effective. THE VAST OF NIGHT Finally Releases ON AMAZON PRIME MAY 29th, 2020 in the US
This is a really great film
Awesome film!!!
There were no chairs available?
I could see a sequel... where they come back -- with the old lady's son...
a sequel.. like a penis enlargement? yes, that would be logical.
What an incredible film. I’m blown away by it. Does the director have an Instagram by any chance?
02:37 Wait a minute...where is the director? I can see only hair moving on stage.
Good film, why a cussin host?
_Whennnnn!?_ 🤯
_Yaaaay!_ Finally saw it tonight during a thunder storm. Loved the camera work.
That *Fay* can sure run fast! The exposition given by *Mabel Blanche* was awesome.
My life's complete. 👍
@@Kridian01 That is so weird! I watched it for the first time tonight too.... DURING A THUNDERSTORM! 🤟🏻🤣 I absolutely loved it.
I absolutely fucking loved it.
He basically sounds exactly like Bo Burnham...
Does anyone know how they made the alien sound?
oh man that beard
Jake mumbled too much. Could only understand about 20 words he spoke in the first 18 minutes of the film. Defeats the purpose of having 18 minutes straight of dialogue.
You know when you are a narcissist filmmaker when you are a loud and obnoxious host of a film festival.
Who is it so I can avoid him in future. So annoying.
Was great to hear from the cast and crew but the foul mouthed wannabe announcer could have done without.
Sorry..this is the dumbest movie ever! So boring and hard to see..only good part was the end
