Noel is, at least, a solid rotational player. He may not live up to the hype he had surrounding him when he got into the association, but he will be in the NBA for awhile. The fact he resigned with OKC this off season shows that he is even accepting that role, which will make him better in the long run, because he won't be one of those players that refuses to believe they cant live up to their expectations.

Noel was a victim of hype. Everyone could see he was thin and couldn't shoot. His only mistake was turning down that offer from Dallas. The Sixers screwed up picking Okafor and trying to play him and Noel together. He's playing great for OKC now. Probably one of the best bench players in the league, putting up 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1.5 blocks in 18 minutes. He has a 21.7 PER and is even shooting almost 77% on free throws. He's going to be around for a few more years and isn't a true bust.

i hate it when people think that scouts are dumb when they think a player will be great but they dont turn out to be because no one can really tell if they'll be great or not and they probably thought the exact same thing as the scouts but for some reason they think that they can just rip on the scouts for making a mistake

I really feel like not living up to the hype doesnt mean bust. Nerlens and Dion might not be what teams wanted or what they even wanted for themself, but Nerlens is really valuable to okc. His role is bigger than sparkplug and setting screens. Dion had the problems you said he did, but when he's healthy and available, hes not a bad player

Nerlens Noel's a prime example of why the one and done era is detrimental to most young prospects. A guy like Noel stays in college for 4 yrs and has a nice career after developing and winning games.
