Whatever we think and feel may not always be the truth. Examine your belief system and learn how to be truthful with yourself. Whenever you catch yourself drifting off into negativity, pause for a moment, become mindful of your breathing, then ask yourself, "Is this true?"
Be completely honest with yourself, and watch what happens.
If your answer is yes, ask yourself again;
"Can I absolutely know that this is true?".
There are usually several nuances to the truth. Keep going, and examine your belief system until you have reached something that feels truthful. A truth will survive any questions, a lie will not.
In your search for truth, remember that a thought is just a thought, and a thought can always change. Your heart and body know the truth. When you have reached the truth your body knows. Listen to it. Trust it.
