I love homesteading! I think a seperate homesteading channel might be best. For some reason TH-cam's algorithm is not kind to channels which tend to cover a range different subjects.🤨🤔 I would like it to have a similar name as this channel, so it would turn up in searches, like Enchanted Rose Farm/Homesteading for example. Also congratulations with your little baby girl!

Second, I am interested in following your renovations/homesteading, but I think it should probably be on a separate channel. “Shannon Makes” gave a great explanation a few weeks ago for why she is starting a second channel, having to do with the TH-cam algorithm and sponsorships, etc. I had no idea how TH-cam works, so her explanation was very eye-opening. It does make me think it would be better and easier for you in the long run to start a second channel for the non-sewing adventures. If you take that route, just post a video on this channel telling people about it with a link to the new channel, and I suspect that most of the people who follow you now will go over there, too, allowing you to start a new channel with a decent-sized beginning viewership base. Whatever you decide, best wishes to you and your family.

I'm going to advise you ... start a new channel. I know it's hard but you don't want to mess around with algorithm, especially if the focus changes drastically. Of course, I will definitely subscribe to the new channel.
And many you tubers had been able to do the renos without a issue. It's a few that get upset becouse they don't want to see it becouse they want to controll the life of the person they follow. We need to stop demand the yt only post one type of video and not allowed to change with how their life is. This is why they burn out becouse people not allowed to change at all due to just how you think. Open your mind instead for them to let the channel follow their life. Thats how you get a strong audience that are stable instead of what you want
I think keeping them separate is a good idea as far as the algorithm goes, that way you keep everyone here for the sewing content and add those of us interested in reno and homesteading and gardening (plus more new friends who may not be interested in sewing) to the other. It also gives you the opportunity to explore other filming styles too, if you wanted to try a less polished vlog format for example... Congrats on the house (and the baby), I'll be homesteading vicariously through you as I'm stuck in condo hell :) My saving grace is I have friends willing to let me garden in their back yard, so I've got all kinds of tips and tricks for developing a low-maintenance garden(-ish, it's still a garden) so it will be interesting to see what you do with yoru spaces!!
