To increase the accuracy of the measurement when doing the calibration the calibration line should be snapped to the same edge of the calibration scale. That is pick either the left edge or the right edge but make sure you pick the same side both times. You could of course pick the center but this is usually harder to define.
You should calibrate to the longest distance you can see for better accuracy and use the cert results and not nominal to input as the actual. If you cal to .05 you have used your scale six times at .3mm. If you cal to 1, you’re at .3 times. Then you would measure .30 at .3 and not .28. Thanks for the info. Cheers!

I can't connect my AmScope to my mac! What soft ware and where to get it from to make it work? The cam scope doesn't appear to be connecting to my mac, please help! I installed the program from the disc, then downloaded it online, but the scope never appeared on the app!!
Hi,At 16:18min. You have calibrated at 0.05mm, you then measure to the 0.30 mm line but the software states it is 0.28mm. Sorry but I do not understand. The long lines are 0.1 mm apart, your line is three lines long so it should measure as 0.30mm not 0.28mm.RegardsJohn
hi. I have a MU300 but when I put it on the 3rd lence all becomes black. I already checked and I put out all the covers from the camera lens, and still like this cannot see anything to do the calibration. Any help please?
Are you using one of our SM microscopes? If so check to see if there is a silver pin on the left hand side and pull it to the outer position to open up the trinocular port. I'm having trouble with mine. Every time I hit calibrate, whether I measure before or after closing and reopening the camera, it measures wrong. I followed all the steps here and I'm using windows 7 if that's a factor

Have calibrated objectives. Have question explaining at what point the camera actually clicks the "shutter" compiling images for stacking.

You need a calibration slide.
