so sad to see these once full stores, feel so empty. I grew up on sears and have never been so sad that will probably be now more by this time next year. Thank you for sharing and happy holidays parker.
Went today. Almost all stock is gone. Just fixtures. Entire second floor closed (elevator and escalators blocked). Mall entrance and entrance closest to the old auto center is open but the entrance on the other side is closed. Very empty inside. Bought a nice chair that was in their office today. Comfy. $20. Sadly once it's gone next month it'll be down to just Kohl's and JCPenney as anchors and neither are looking too good inside stock wise or how clean they are. Mall also has lost alot of stores thanks to COVID-19 shutdowns last year. Also annoying fact for frequenters of this mall, when sears closes, the only ground floor bathrooms will close too. The only bathrooms in the ENTIRE MALL that will be left will be in that little basement area in the west court near the information booth and Olgas.
@@garyvandecar2580 you are correct. I was thinking of Wonderland. I just lived a mile from there when I was growing up. Westland mall was never open air. Thanks for the correction.
The top floor is half empty and everything on the first floor is spread out. Wouldn't it make more since just complete shut down the top floor and move everything downstairs? It would make it look fuller
Yes thus slow death is worse than just closing all at once. Everyone already know it not a matter of if they will close but when. Just be done with it just get it over with. Stop this slow painful death.
People have pretty much likened sears and kmart to a "slow liquidation". They are pretty much for the most part riding out their final leases. This sears opened in 1997. I wouldn't be surprised if it was lease renewal time. Since it's been Almost 25 years. They probably had a 25 year lease or something. Could also have had something to do with the mall ownership changing to notoriously nefarious Namdar Realty recently.
Do you still have a open Sears near you or is it closed?
Nope my Sears closed in 2017
I'm lucky enough to still have sears near me!
All Sears stores and properties in DFW are open!
Mine is closed and by the look of this video it will be closed by Feb or March 2021
Yes I do, this is it.

I remember when Westland Mall was an open-air mall. Great place to walk around.
Westland Mall was never an open-air mall, The only open-air mall in the region was Wonderland Mall in Livonia.

Still have my Sears Grand in Thornton! Sometime next year hoping to get out that way again before anything happens!
If I was a long time employee that have personal time or unused PTO I would be using it as soon as possible.
Rip Sears at rivertown mall you must visit it before it closes for good

So the top floor is so empty they have to close off a entire section.
I lost my Sears last year 😔
It sad when rhe merchandise has to be spread out to make the store look full.
Stay safe Westland is not the best part of Michigan so stay safe
Westland is OK mostly. You are thinking of Inkster.
Live in Belleville and am from the area. Westland is very safe. Just avoid going toward Inkster or Detroit.
