truth is something you never have to be ashamed of😊

@@songofseikilos8659 very true
That is a beautiful and interesting piece! I think the reason the UV resin didn't work like you wanted it to is because you have it so opaque. The light has to be able to penetrate the resin to harden it and if you have so much pigment in there that the light can't get all the way through then you're going to get goo 🙁 I don't also recommend letting the light sit on there for at least 2 minutes. I know 30 seconds doesn't sound like a lot but it is. Something else that might be helpful to you is if it's not quite cured, you can just stick it out on your driveway in the sun while you go do something else, and just rotate it every once in awhile and let the sun do it for you as well.
Thank you for the advise!

That’s beautiful! You did great finishing that with uncured UV, that can be a sticky mess. It reminds me of a wicked glass I used occasionally, it left very sharp burs after cutting it. I was a stained glass artisan in SL. I did a replacement window for the chapel on the Temple grounds. Just the round window in the middle, unfortunately we couldn’t repair the original. We were lucky enough to get the glass to match all the others so, it’s not noticeable. Great job on your piece and helping OUR.

Nice piece. You are right. We are creative. God is creative and we are made in His image. Body soul and spirit. God blessed me with gift of music. I play flute and I know the presence of the Holy Spirit when playing in the praise team. Playing is easy. It flows with very little forced effort. In other words I dont have to focus on myself but on God. It's hard to explain. But the anointing ..... specifically in my case ... for playing the flute to and for God in praise is not entertainment for the church. I direct it to God and it is wonderful to know the pleasure I believe the Lord has to hear the genuine worship of his church. I have been told by a friend that he was in a church in the UK when during praise and worship he could hear the angels singing in the roof area of the church. God bless you brother. Your heavenly Father takes pleasure in your creativity that blesses so many. Great vid. Thanks.

Enjoying your work and have subscribed. I don’t know if you ever seen 1/4 angle grinder with what are called Ro lock discs. That grinder is pneumatic and about the size of your hand. The discs come in all sizes of grit. We have used for years in the automotive industry. They could be used to smooth the inside of your work .
Cool. Thank you for the idea....
Artforour.org
I really dig that 3D look you get from the carved resin it does give it that antique glass look, instead of us you might use a timed cure epoxy 5,10,15,30 whatever suits you just mix it in batches that suit the size area within that timeframe and your idea to level your piece during the process would be really good here too and you can pre mix in the pearl so you have more control over the concentration of the pigment, ps be careful with the 5&10 min they start to go off before that. Just test it before you get in trouble with a big project, I hope this helps. Peace
Good ideas! Thank you!

Beautiful as always!! Great job. If you would like some help with UV resin please let me know. Thanks
Thank you! Will do!
With UV resin when you realised it was not set place it in the sun (I know it’s winter there) as long as it gets direct sun light it will set in an hour or so.
Cool. How thick of a layer is possible? I could only achieve 2mm or so...
Alumilite makes a good UV resin you may want to check out.

I totally agree that creativity is bestowed upon us by our creator. It's nice to hear TH-camr that's not ashamed of his beliefs. I believe when God breathed the spark of life into the dust to create man, that that creative spark gives us the power to be creators ourselves on a much smaller but still Divine level. I love this piece, what a creative way to make a simple vase!!! I love the way you created the resin windows

Yup, definitely next level… WOW 🎉❤
Gorgeous piece. Thank you. You have to cure UV resin in thin layers and only use like 7% pigments of any kind. And a very high powered UV light, And I'm sure you know the sun will cure UV resin in time.
Thank you for the feedback!

incredible piece as always. i think a fast set resin would be more appropriate for that application, and there are many different options with very short working times. might be something to consider adding to your arsenal if it helps because i love seeing you execute the concepts you envision 🤟
Good idea! Gracias!
Artforour.org
UV resin can't really set thick, if you could apply light to both sides you'd have a better set too. Light gets cut signiicantly in power just hitting the water's serfice, since resin is ticker I assume it's worse. Also, a heat gun may help with bubbles.
Thanks!
www.artforour.org/how-you-can-help
there is an air bubble
①. Reduce the air pressure with a vacuum and remove the foam.
②. Bring the atmospheric pressure back to 1 atm.
③. Wait for the resin to harden.
Thank you very much!

Adding some LEDs at the base to shine up into the vase would add and interesting effect. You could get the ones where you can program different colors too.

What is the model of the Abortech that you used for this project ?
Almost all of their different carving tools...amzn.to/3YBkUID
Magnificent! Your new opening sequence and your Arbor Tech tool are super cool. Generally, UV resin can only be poured 3-4mm thick and set properly. Pigment probably lessens that, as well. Multiple coats are definitely a thing with this stuff. If your UV resin isn't cured nice and solid, you can set it in the sun outside after you get everything where you want it. Works well for a large piece like this. UV resin is more a tool you can use in conjunction with your deep pour epoxy, not instead of for the size of projects you do. When you got to the gummy part, you could have set that outside to fully cure.
Awesome! thank you for the tips!

It is stunningly beautiful. God bless you for everything you do for them.
Thank you very much!

One of your best pieces. I learned the hard way with UV a couple of years ago. Had sold back pendants trays and I couldn’t get UV resin to cure, someone suggested it was the resin brand, nope tried others. It was not being able to cure resin from both sides, front and backside. It’s a learning curve. UV resin has its place. It’s remarkable that you were able to accomplish what you did. Ty for helping children.
Thank you Maddie! Much appreciated!

DAN, another great piece of work! Trying to buy that flexible foam you use by the attached link but it always has " page not found" from Amazon. Any other suggestions or links?

Why, do you want to "take out" Gab, the social media site?
I was talking about Gabb the kid phone...
With different color resin it would look like a giraffe skin

Great piece!
Here are a couple of things I have found with working with UV Resin. First I found you can pour in layers. Secondly torching the top of a smallnot to thick of a piece will pop most if not all of the air bubbles. Thirdly I run my UV lamps for longer to get a better cure.
If I am doing a thick piece I usually pour in layers curing between layers: I pour then I lightly torch over the pour until the visible bubble are gone. I generally use a small kitchen torch but sometimes I use my husbands hand held propane torch. I dont like to use the bigger torch very often because I have small hands and don't feel like I have total control with it. Torching may take two or three passes over the piece (about 2 or 3 seconds). Then I place under my UV lamp for about 4 to 6 minutes. 90 seconds may make the top hard but the under portion is only tacky soft set if the resin is to thick or opaque. When in doubt the longer the lamp is used on it the better. I have found 6 minutes usually cures the piece thourghly. Once I am done with the curing process I let the piece set for about 24 hours to air cure and settle up before I do anything else to the piece. That seems to harden the piece more and makes it less resistant to damage while I finish off the piece.
If you have small chips in the resin you can fill the chip with clear resin cure it with your UV lamp, like you normally would, then let it set for 24 hours. At that point you can proceed with your project. Using clear resin lets the original color to come through and will be less noticable of a repair. Also adding alcohol ink as a colorant to your resin keeps the resin more transparent than other pigments. To give resin depth you can add small amounts mica powder or glitter. If not to much is added you still retain the transparent look but have a little bit of shine and interesting depth.
Love all your tools...
Keep up the good work and good luck on your organizational fund raising.
Mary
PS... When you encountered the tacky resin in your vase you could of put a small UV lamp inside the vase and moved it about every 3 or 4 minutes to cover all areas of the inside of the vase. Once it was cured you could of continued with finishing the inside with out the problem of uncured resin. I bought a couple of small UV lamps, each for under $10.00 on Amazon, that I use when I have pieces that have odd angles. I can position the small lamps so they hit the odd angle straight on which gives the piece 360 degrees UV light exposure to cure. I think that would have helped you a great deal inside the vase too.
Awesome advice! Thank you! Do you have a lamp you recommend? The only thing i could find had a max of 90 sec timer on it...
@@artgivinghope
I bought JDiction UV lamps they are inexpensive and do little area or pieces just fine. They have 30, 60 and 90 second timers... I use the the 60 second timer 4 to 6 times... It is kinda of pain to reset it for 60 seconds every minute or so but I discovered I don't need to babysit the lamp. I do try and reset it as soon as the lamp turns off but if I don't jump on it right away it is ok. I have a sticky note pad by the lamp and make tick marks for everytime I reset the lamp. This helps me keep track of how many times I reset the timer especially if I am multi tasking. Bottom line is that it is easier to under cure UV resin than to over cure.
Hope this helps...
Thanks!
To make a finer grained filler
purchase a food processor or a blender from a thrift shop and process a couple scoops of the shavings and mix with your glue
To follow the stained glass theme go for a cobalt blue and scarlet and alternate colours in the cells
Position a shop vac wand near the mouth at 3 to 4 o'clock to suction up the shavings when you are boring
Make a PVC wand and a reducer fitting in shop vac to suction out the shavings
Air hose aerosolizes the dust and plastic shavings and spreads it around the shop as dust ,into machinery and breathing it in unless you use proper respirator mask or powered respirator
A nice sharp inch and half spindle roughing gouge will drop the time taken to rough it to shape and give a finer tool finish on spalted woods
Dang this is beautiful. As a stain glass worker I’m completely blown away by the resin effect. ❤
Thanks you so much Wendy!

I am only telling the truth Bro.👍
I appreciate it!
Once you get the resin set with your light. Take it outside on a sunny day for about 20 minutes. rotate it every 3 or four giving all surfaces direct sunlight. I deal with UV resin all the time and have 2 resin printers as well. I would also suggest concidering using a UV printing resin. It will set hard and not as elastic . It also will not degrade over time like art resin does.
Thank you for the suggestions!
