I don't see anything special about Tom's commentary during the game. After every play, he just gives some general statements about the team's goals or a player's performance. Perhaps he mentions a team's gameplan. He doesn't break any play down the way Romo does. He doesn't make any predictions or offer his idea of what call should be next or even what call should have been done on previous failed plays. I'm not saying he's bad, but the hype was too enormous to be just average. Feels like he's just living on his name in the booth.
