you can consider plastic wrap for masking the hull stuck down with masking tape. its both cheaper and quicker.

Though to be fair, painters tape and similar products are pretty cheap. It is only when you start buying the branded hobby tapes that the prices go up lol

I absolutely loath the masking process. But it is super satisfyingly when you remove the tape.....go figure lol
