Honestly, I'm glad to see a huge character development of Jade from ep 6 and 7, him being serious thinking about Mai is what I've been waiting. The expression of him not being silly and goofy makes him looks way more better, it really suits Yim to be honest.

I keep reading comments justifying Jade. Saying he had experience from the past or a toxic one. There are people that have been cheated on or have been in long term relationships being treated like shit. Yet they moved on. He dated someone in high school for one month & that person broke up with him as he was jealous of anyone that spoke to him. Can't blame him, he had every right if he didn't think Jade was the right person for him.
I understand Jade being sad at the time, but now he is an adult & he hurting Mai again and again. Mai has showed him nothing but warm feelings, affection and consideration.
@Nemesis-gv2qp that relationship made him see himself in a relationship situation. The guy told him why he broke up with him, and so that's how he views himself. We don't know if he's actually like that or was being gaslighted by the guy. So whether that's how he is or not, he didn't like the feeling of the break up and didn't want to experience it again. Meeting Mai is probably the first time he really wanted to try again. Saying other ppl go through break up and move on is not it. Ppl deal with things differently in different times. The loud, goofy part of him is just his personality, which also allows him to cover up any hurt feelings cause no one would suspect if he falls back on it unless they understand him
Oh boy that line at 10:20 from Uea made me stop and replay because damn. “You aren’t deluding yourself out of fear right?” As someone like Jade who often fears the worst and doubts themselves it’s very easy to think you’re doing the right thing for others by not opening yourself to them.

I'll admit I really thought the scene in the stairs was a dream. I couldn't think that the kind, sweet and gentle Mai could say something so... harsh. But it juste proves how deep the wound goes. And in a sense, it's a karma slap for Jade, being rejected without being able to explain himself just like he did to Mai before.
Uea and King are good friends but again, we see the opposite ways of helping. Uea is more keen on making Jade thinks for himself and shares his knowledge (which is great) while King is just jabbing at Mai's ego to get a reaction (which is... well it works in a lot of rom-com so I suppose it works too XD).
Turn out king is the mastermind behind this, I know it, Mai is a super green flag person, he won't have any thought to do that if someone not suggest him to do that. You can see the way he pause many times and has a contemplating expression about should he try what king's suggest or not cause mai is someone who never dare to hurt Jade even for a little 😔
People who say they stopped watching because they don't like how Jade is, obviously dont understand trauma and heartbreak. Those who say Uea and King are not the same as before y'all just stupid, they went from fwb to dating and they are playing a supportive role here. King may tease Jade, but he is his friend.
King and Uea's relationship is so adorable 😭💞

Uea is the perfect love advisor for Jade because he understands him better than anyone else. He’s been in the same situation, but I’m sure choosing King was one of his best decisions in life. Jade would be the same if he chooses Mai. 🥹

Comienzo la tercera vez que veo este capítulo. Lo vi por aquí, lo vi por Iqiyi y vuelvo a aquí. Tengo una sensación agridulce con esta serie. Por un lado, creo que tiene potencial desaprovechado pero por otro, estoy totalmente enganchada. I dont see how they keep telling Mai are you going to quit?! Honestly he should. Why they expect Mai to make all the effort all the time. In a relationship both need to make an effort if not 50-50 at least some effort. Here all i see is Mai being nice, considerate, affectionate, confessing, waiting, insisting, continuing to be kind. And I see a Jade that doesnt want to admit how he is feeling, he turned down Mai. He was jealous Mai with Gus, he was jealous of Mai & that girl when he has no right. Then saying he wants to be brothers with Mai, clearly being inconsiderate towards the feelings that Mai has.
He dated someone for one month in high school & i get it he was sad. But come on now that person was honest & didnt cheat or misguide him into draging the relationship. He ended cause of Jade being jealous and from what it seems he was right.
