- In a scene from touch by an angel about race there is a man who owned a bread shop and it was destroyed by hate but who was behind the hate? the devil and the owner of the bread shop who also happens to be a prophet of god takes down the devil and exposes him for who he really is.

Here's something you should tell your friend. Satan was originally a good angel. His pride grew as a result of his position and he tried to grab onto power that wasn't his to begin with. He tried to replace God and was cast down as a result of his actions.

I love this scene from the "Breaking Bread" episode of this show. We should all have the courage to stand up to Satan and tell him that we refuse to listen to any more of his lies. The Bible says, "Resist the devil, and he will flee." If more and more of us did this, we could make this world a better place.

I once watched this movie about the devil taking the form of a little girl. I was scared when watching this, it's REALLY terrifying, but then I was really angry at what he was doing. I was still scared, but I used my anger towards him to continue watching the move. No matter what we do or think, we must always remember that there is always a light at the end of a tunnel and that Good will always win never evil! God is Good so in other words, God will always win, He'll never turn away from us.

I've always loved this show. Strangly I watch it when I'm finding life hard. it always ends up the same bad trying to get in the way. So I have to try and defeat bad and talk to God. Sounds crazy I know.
Nooooo! It sounds exactly the opposite of crazy. This show has literally saved my life a few times. I struggle with severe depression. I've binge watched this before when struggling with suicidal thoughts. I ALWAYS feel better after watching an episode. Impossible to feel worse, so at the very least, during the hours that I watch this, my heart is still beating. By the time I turn the tv off, my suicidal desire had diminished enough to keep me alive for another day. So no, that doesn't sound crazy, never minimize the importance of an uplifting show like this. Watch a few episodes of SVU or Criminal Minds, and I NEED something uplifting lol, much as I love those shows :-)

even though i'm an athiest i still enjoy watching these as i can remember watching them with my grandmother every weekend, they're very heartwarming and teach good values that people (religious or not) should be following more closely.

It’s amazing how in 2018 left wind looks would do anything to get a show like this cancelled.
Funny how things change. Back in the 90s, right wing kooks hated this show. I remember the pastor at my parents' church calling it "Touched by a Demon" because there were episodes that portrayed gay people as human beings, like the one where the Angels visit the father of a gay man (who is dying from AIDS) and get him to accept his son for who he is. Then by the end of the episode the son dies and becomes an angel. My pastor absolutely HATED that and told the parishioners to boycott the show.
Ironically, that church was one of the things that made me become an atheist because it made me see Christians for the hypocrites that they are.

Look, as a Christian I can say this: you are MAINLY right. Hypocrisy is rife within church, but just because certain people go to church it doesn't make them Christians. Going to church and thinking that makes you a Christian is like a sick person walking into the hospital for an hour, not doing anything, leaving and then saying that they're healed. The disease (of fear, pain, greed, anger, hypocrisy) is still there, and you can walk around in a hospital for HOURS, but unless you digest and take the treatment, things will not improve.
In the same way, if people go to church and not APPLY what they have learned (in the sense of forgiveness, how to reach the lost, the TRUE priorities and perspectives of life) then nothing will change. I am not saying that actively accepting and following Jesus as your Savior will make all of your problems (personal and physical) vanish immediately. Actively seeking and pursuing Christ WILL save you and guarantee you Heaven, but it won't make your problems vanish immediately. Trust me, I still have a LOAD of problems that have come and gone in the time I have accepted Christ.
God is patient and he allows time, experiences and people to shape us into the way he wants us to be (which is loving and beyond reproach) and the bible says NO ONE will be perfect in word, thought or action until Jesus' Return on the Day Of Judgement, so sometimes it helps to be patient with certain people.
I'm sorry that your experiences made you become an athiest. I personally would encourage you to start seeking a relationship with Christ. Note I said RELATIONSHIP here. Pray to him, talk to him about everything that put those doubts about your faith in your head, tell him everything. Even if you don't feel him, trust me, he is there. Please, just stay strong and remember that he really does love you and he wants you to know him. He has a plan for you, nobody - NOBODY is born without God's consent and approval. He has something planned for your life far beyond your comprehension. It won't be easy (but then again, life isn't is it?) but it comes with the greatest reward.
Just to clarify: Christians aren't just a group of people going to church, or those who have been "born into it", they are people who seek after "Christ"'s character, one of love, truth, kindness, self-control, and not one of hypocrisy and accept him as their personal Savior.

Well that was nauseatingly saccharine
if there is a god and a devil, most people put too much trust into god taking care of things for them, and that in turn can lead to inaction, and that can lead to problems, like a lack of getting things done and making things good and desirable or keeping them that way. one thing that was good about this episode was that it shows people taking it upon themselves to do something rather than wait for god to care of it for them. if you believe god has a plan for you, you're more likely to idly stand by and do nothing while waiting for things to happen rather than take action and make things happen on your own, and that can't be good.
other than that, it's silly how satan had the power to take human form and magically disappear while changing his voice in the process, yet god didn't have the power to resurrect and restore the person who was killed. if jesus was able to resurrect and restore lazaurus, then the same should've happened for that person who was killed, and the same should've happened for everyone who was killed in the book of job where job's family and servants were killed over a bet god and satan had with each other.

I Dare Somebody To Compare " Touched By An Angel " And " The Shack "
why does it even need to be compared? Both show God's mercy and very powerful love, and gives the reader/viewer immense peace about horrors they may face, and the comfort that God is with them. Why does it have to be a competition on who gets it right, or the closest? No-one even knows what God is truly, truly like, because the living cannot see Him. All we can do is run on faith from the words of our ancestors who claim to have heard Him, and His teaching. Both Touched By an Angel and The Shack are very clear...God is good, and God is loving, and God is living...that's all it needs to be.
