Practical Kata Bunkai: Chinte Two Finger Spear Hands (Nihon Nukite)

In this video we explore some of the bunkai of the kata Chinte (“Unusual Hands”); specifically the dropping middle-knuckle strikes, the rising nihon nukite (two finger spear hands) and the dropping nihon nukite. The kata contains a number of hand positions not seen in the more widely practised kata; hence the name. Despite the unusual look for the sequence in the solo form, it is really just a collection of attacks to weak areas from within a clinch. Although presented in a set sequence, they can be applied in any order.

I've just watched Chinte applications of 2 or 3 other quite famous Shotokan instructors [thanks TH-cam], and this one leaves the others for dead. Nice and simple,short and sharp, makes sense and you feel 'yeah that could work'. Whereas the other applications I watched seem like a formula for getting yourself into even more trouble than you're in already.

sensei naka of the j.k.a, gives a very good class on this .. i think it was filmed in thialand well worth a watch. was taught this kata with sensei enoeda , a unforgetable experiance a true tiger of shotokan
