    Arizona is a treasure, mountains, deserts, beautiful "painted" rock landscapes, cacti, snow, dust storms, and much more. I lived there for six years and recently returned in February to house sit for someone near Sedona. Just before leaving during the first week of March there was a massive snowstorm that closed the Grand Canyon for several days. Determined to see the Canyon once again before leaving, I headed North and arrived to see snowbanks on the side of the road that were 6-8 feet deep. Many of the overlooks were closed, but the magic of seeing the Canyon colors under the snowfall was an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing your Arizona journey! All the best in your exploration.

    First off thanks for taking me along 👍 I'm under a picnic table hiding frome west Texas wind watching this video. 21 mph sustained freaking nightmare at night . On my way back to Florida from California still haven't had a tailwind day 🙃 it was in face on the way there and now in face on the way back .Tried route 66 on the way back but couldn't take all the tourist and congestion .

    I love watching your videos of places I've never been. I'm also really enjoying watching your videos of places I'm familiar with. Camped there, hiked there, seen that. And my assessment of the Grand Canyon is the same as yours. It's a shame it's so commercial. Somewhat of a let down. I enjoy the wild canyon lands in Utah much more.

    Crazy how we all see things differently we were at the Grand Canyon around the same time and we totally loved it. We had the time to explore many overlooks. We were able to see both sunset and sunrise over the canyon. So amazing. On this trip we didn't tour we drove there and just did day rides on our bikes (we do love to bike tour also). It looked like you guys had some really challenging weather conditions been there too. Great job getting through it safely that wind looked crazy. Wishing you both a safe and happy journey :)

    Hello guys. I wish you good pedellar and good adventures. I am also a bicycle rider, but I had pain in my right knee after my 130 km tour. What I want to know is, do you use supplements for your joint pain? I also aim to go on a world tour for 1 year, it will make me happy to receive information from people who take long distances like you.

    • @louisaandtobi
      @louisaandtobi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, sorry to hear that you had some pain in your knee. We don't take any supplements for pain / muscles. One of the most common causes of knee pain when cycling is an incorrect seat height / seat position. Maybe have a look into that, it might help. Good luck on your planned journey! :)

    You look at 20.00 as expencive. It cost over 24 million dollars a year to keep the park open and roughly 1.8 million of that comes from entrance fees. The other 22.2 million comes from the tax payers in the United states. So at $20.00 you are getting a hell of a deal at the American tax payers expense.

    • @louisaandtobi
      @louisaandtobi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sure, 20 dollars isn’t cheap, especially when compared to many other countries where national park use is totally free, but of course we also understand that national parks have running costs that need to be covered. We have absolutely no problem with paying an entrance fee for a park, we do have a problem with it being so unfairly and illogically distributed between cars, bicycles, etc…. exactly like we say in the video.

      @@louisaandtobi what’s illogical is charging per person in a car which makes it so expensive for families. Also if there’s 1 guy in a car he will pay 35$ too . If you guys are so worried about 20$ per person while staying for free everywhere then put your girlfriend on your bike. If the Grand Canyon was in Europe it would be minimum 100€ per person which would be incredibly expensive for families. Also if you find it expensive then don’t go. This is typical cheapo behaviour.

    It has to be that way comecial to keep it clean and safe and law enforcement . If free for all it would be full garbage and trouble makers you would not be able to enjoyed . It would be very dangerous . Please understand . And the lady that let you for free maybe in trouble . Now all cycling wanna go in for free ? But I understand your point of 5 people in a car ? Is that is expensive to maintain . You also mentioned texas when police ran you off the Park . Is that in the USA we have Big problems with homeless troublemakers .and if Police don't say nothing the next Day you Will have more and there goes the Town very bad . But you are tourists from another country . So you get breaks ? It put USA in bad position ? We have rules here . But enjoy your tour please understand .

      Of course we understand that a place like the Grand Canyon will be commercial and that it is necessary to keep it clean, etc. However, it definitely is not necessary to have (what feels like) dozens of gift shops, etc. In our opinion, it just destroys the atmosphere of such a beautiful and impressive natural wonder a bit.

Frankly I'm surprised you've been met with as much kindness as you have in some of these small towns, considering you aren't driving a diesel truck and eating meat. ;) The trump epidemic has created this pride in being unsophisticated. My guess is that if you are complaining about the $20.00 the park service charges, then you probably did not pay the $15.00 per person per night fee that the Navajo nation charges you to use our land for the 4 days you were on our land. So you trespass on our land and brag about stealing money from the nation on your videos. Also we are not Navajo. That is a white man's insult name for us. We are DINE. "THE PEOPLE " maybe In the future when you travel to a sovereign nation you should think about not insulting the people and stealing from them. Of course you are Europeans so that is normal for you. Your type have been stealing from us for 600 years. It good to see that somethings never change.

    • @louisaandtobi
      @louisaandtobi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      First of all, that is an incredibly racist comment… now let’s set a few things straight.
      The $15 per person per night you are referring to is the “Navajo Nation Backcountry Permit” which is only required when hiking backcountry trails or camping. As we neither hiked nor camped on Navajo Reservation land we did not need the permit. We cycled on main roads and either stayed with hosts or were invited to stay in churches (by people who called themselves Navajo).
      We did, however, actually write to the Navajo Nation Parks organization to get the backcountry permit in advance, as we were initially planning to camp, and only received an answer three months later… way too late. That’s why we didn’t end up camping on the reservation.
      So in future, before you throw around racist and serious allegations, make sure you are correctly and fully informed.

    • @mariobotelho32
      @mariobotelho32 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahahah cool down with the mushrooms... "sovereign nation". You only exist as a "nation" because we, the evil europeans" had mercy for you and, after defeating you in battle, gave you a piece of land. Something you would never do for us if you have won.
      Also it seems you were wrong about the fee. As your name says they were just "pedaling thru" and didn't have to pay your Monopoly fee.
