I miss when all this craziness wasn't necessary. Even the old fast pass system was more tolerable. To expect a person to buy a ticket to get into a park and then have them gamble a chance to actually get on a ride inside the park you already paid to get into is crazy greed. Now you pay for a similar system that was fast pass. I get it Genie+ is another way they manage crowds but knowing its a cash cow doesn't make any more digestible. I've been many times and i feel sorry for those that don't plan it all out. These videos are so valuable and i thank you for doing them.

yes. it's so unfair to families that can only afford the basics and don't have enough time on their hands to learn everything about it. my family can afford it now but it if was like this 10-15 years ago we wouldn't have had good vacation

Thanks for this! I hadn’t thought about preselecting the Virtual Queue ahead of time on my tip board. Great to see you recommending Rob at Ear Scouts. We were just at Disney in June but as a whole family using my husband’s DAS. I’m going again this summer but just with my daughter and we won’t have the DAS. Also staying at Shades of Green for the first time since 2017. Have found and appreciated both yours and Rob’s accounts so much. Just so funny that you mentioned him too. The modify option for Genie+ is really good, too, especially if you know you might miss your window or want to search for better times that weren't there before. Thanks again for all your hard work on these videos!
They are angels! I'll admit...in the moment (and the heat) it can get frustrating and I've given up before and just went straight the umbrellas lol They were so helpful! The more we use these tools though the easier it gets. And, at least for me, the mistakes help me learn. I've always found that the best way to learn something new is to just start practicing it. The modify option is wonderful...totally agree!
This even helps with Disneyland. The first time I saw all those different things and the two genies that did different things. I was so confused.

We have one day military tix but are not staying at a Disney hotel. Reserved Epcot. So what are our options to ride Cosmic Rewind? It seems that we can’t use virtual queue, right?
Sorry for the late response! But you can still try to get into the virtual queue! You probably won't have a chance for the 7am one (disney deluxe resort guests get first dibs) or the 6pm one (because you won't have extended evening access without staying on Disney property). However, you can absolutely try for the 1pm one. You'll want to be ready to go on the app a few mins before 1pm and hit those buttons as fast as you can.
If you want to avoid the stress of trying to get one and/or missing out you can opt to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane (ILL) through the app. It can range between $14-$17 per person (price will vary depending on the day/demand) and you'll be given a return time with a 1 hour window to go on the ride. If you decide to do this I would highly recommend making this purchase through the app early in the morning because these will also sell out through the day. I hope this is helpful!

Is that still a thing? I thought as of Jan this year it was no longer a thing?
Park reservations are still a thing for non date based tickets. If you purchase military tickets those are considered non date based and you’ll still need to make park reservations.
