And interestingly modern javelin athletes throw them at ~70 miles per hour, and that's with hyper specialized lightweight javelins and rigorous training. Sure the Hunter is magic infused but so far they have not shown any special super strength(from other thrown weapons, items etc). It's just super overtuned in terms of velocity.
Great! Now all we need is a period correct snare trap. And some healing plants instead of syringes. And mushrooms for antidode and berries for stamina.

well gotta say crytek did an amazing job balancing the game , by nerfing the dumdum like it was ever needed haha and destroying the flash cus of 6 star try hard crying players , but got a brilliant idea to put a spear in the game that kills like that haha . Have just played a few games my self after that patch , not expirienced any rachta caveman so far haha :D will see how it will turn out soon I guess :D
The spear is stupidly OP. First the nerfed melee tools, then they put an OP melee tool in the game that 1 shots everything and even can be thrown to 1 shot kill medium distance and all that by not taking up any weapon slot. Crytek for you. So many years, and they still have no learned anything. It does not even had a drop it seems. And OF COURSE they did not even test it, the duplicate thing was for sure not intentional and should be removed. The entire thing seems out of place.
@@jacobb.9181 Yes they reduced the damage. I have seen a streamer using ammo box to hit the boss because they did not nerf on that. It takes ages now to kill bosses with knuckle knife. I actually never looked at the actual numbers but I head people saying it got nerfed and I felt it ingame. I guess its vs players as well so melee got nerfed to then boring this thing into it. It would be fine as a medium weapon like Katana but as a TOOL like WTF.
@@jacobb.9181 what wasnt mentioned in the comment is that they specifically nerfed any melee weapon in the tool slot "vs bosses". you still 4 shot immos with the kk, 3 with the dusters etc. melee tools are currently just that, tools. for quick boss killing you need to bring an actual melee weapon or attachment
I played something similar but with the new viking skins and a Combat Axe instead of the Bat. It was my favorite "Non-normal" loadout I ever played. So much fun.
Ok, I agree spear is nuts, but I think the hivemind's solution of "make it a weapon" sucks all the fun out of the item. Like even if they turn it into a one slot its suddenly competeing with uppercut, officer, lematt, and dolch for its slot. Like yes nerf spear but make the kill require bodytap and revert the tool nerf or just nerf spear vs bosses. Every time i launch the game they reset to low (it's not autodetecting my settings) and no matter what settings i have the game looks super blurry or staticky/grainy? hard to describe, kinda looks like my hunter just rubbed his eyes really hard and theyre still blurry. broke this patch only

The spear should be converted to an Atlotl so its spears are ammo. Make it be an actual weapon you must equip. Too strong to have it along with normal weaponry
poison ammo wont kill immolator any more what a big improvement for hunt producers well done... WORK on new map or other major improvments not on little worthless stuff ... play the game first for a long time before release the feature..

At least 2 things need to be changed about this spear. It should only 1 shot in the head and torso, instant kill with leg and hand hit is stupid. When you loot a dead hunter and get a spear, all the ones you throw in the environment should disappear to avoid exploit like this.
