    Sir thank you 1st of all!! It is a request to you from all the EE students that please start Synchronus Machine after completing DC machine and keep Induction Machine aside and if time permits we will love to hear the lecture of Induction but we need synchronus badly.. Just consider it sir..

    Sir please tell me armature occur in dc machine and synchronous machines both . In dc machine we don effort to eliminate the adverse effect of armature reaction .in synchronous machines we do not do anything for adverse effects of armature reaction.what is the reason behind this??

    A DC series motor has an armature resistance of 0.06 om and series field resistance of 0.08 om.The motor is connected to a 400v supply.The line current is 20 A when the speed of the machine is 110 rpm.When the line current is 50 A and the excitation is increased by 30%, speed of the machine in RPM is?

    Because the Armature flux shift only in motor
    In generator armature flux and the main field flux are at 90° to each other ..

    D-axis for one pole pair is when..when the field line go through the north pole to south...but in case of 2 pole pair the d-axis is shown from north to North , south to south
    Why...?

      Bcoz D axis is always a straight line. It is not necessary that d axis goes from N to S.

      @@umeshsingh-du3pk No. I asked my teacher and he explained me.
      At the instant of reversal current at the brush conductor should be zero otherwise sparking will be there(only at that instant). This was the point to be understood here . Suppose that positive polarity is there at brush A . At that time current will flow through it . When brush A is at negative polarity then also current will flow through it . But when the current is being reversed from positive to negative polarity, at that instant the current passing through the brush should be zero.🙂
      I hope you get it ,otherwise ask again,i will explain again!

      Samarpreet Singh current through the brush is zero. I didn't get that part. Since it is a DC generator, all conductors are connected to slip ring, and the conductor that is in the same axis as brush that'll have no current but all the other conductors that is connected to the slip ring will have current right. And the brush will collect the current from the slip ring only. Am I right?

      @@umeshsingh-du3pk see ,when would the polarity be reversed ,when current goes from maximum positive value to maximum negative value . Right! So here also at the time of reversal current would first attain maximum value ,then become zero and after that attain maximum negative value. Hence reversal occurs when current is zero (average of ac). And at that instant of time current through the brush should be zero. This is because alternating current is generated in the armature winding.🙂

      Samarpreet Singh yeah you're right, but brush is connected outside the commutation circuit right. So it's always collects DC current not AC I guess.
