Absolutely love it. All rush to the beach, hankies on heads, stop off at the pub, quick sing song and non stop toilet breaks all the way home. Those were the days!
Possibly his most well known sketch? Until a complete collection of his stuff comes out on DVD, the Best Of DVD that's been out a long while is worth seeking out. :-)
As a Californian, this and so many other Marty sketches & shows makes me glad to know he was already funnier before he met Mel Brooks. Too many people (USA natives included) get unfairly type-cast too often & too soon here.
In spite of my seemingly unfavourable comments I had a bit of fun with this sketch when I converted it to an mpeg file. I also downloaded a movie player called the Best Movie Player on which you can change the speed at which the video is played and played this sketch at half speed. Marty & Co move and sound normal, John Junkin is all slowed down and the audience sounds like Jabba the Hut laughing. Reminded me of my childhood passion for playing Pinky & Perky LPs at 16rpm.
He worked with Pythons Graham Chapman & John Cleese (& the Goodies' Tim Brooke-Taylor) on At Last The 1948 Show in 1967. The 4 Yorkshiremen sketch originated there. They all knew each other, wrote & inspired each other.
That coach belonged to one of oldest coach firms in the UK.Birch Bros (sadly no longer with us,since 1969),had been around since horse drawn days.It was based in London, but we had a depot in the town where i live (Hitchin,Hertfordshire).
This is fantastic, surreal nonsense. Part of it plays like an insane Gilliam animation. Marty was a comic God, the Pythons and the Goodies owe him absolutely everything!!!!
Cor you're a bundle of laughs!!! Prior to your self righteous comments, over 350 people had viewed this. Obviously dated and infantile sketches are popular!!! We'll stick to smiling if you don't mind.
Hey, I didn't mean any offence. Just voicing my opinion. Just that this sketch seems a bit dated. However, do you have this sketch as an mpeg file and could you send it to me. I'd like to have a bit of special effects fun with it (and I wouldn't be spoiling it)
My sister just sent me this! My Dad was a HUGE Marty fan. He always was crying laughing at this, he loved this sketch! Good memories 😢❤
The stopping for a piss every couple of miles, 😂😂 we’ve all been there
I remember watching this as a very small child in the early 2000s. Can't believe I've found it again after so long
well I watched it when I was in my twenty's, beginning somewhere 1974
It was first shown on UK TV in 1968. I was 10.
Absolutely love it. All rush to the beach, hankies on heads, stop off at the pub, quick sing song and non stop toilet breaks all the way home. Those were the days!
HOW HAS THIS NOT GOT MORE LIKES?!🤔🤣
I have never forgotten this sketch it is wonderful always made me laugh, God Bless Marty.
legendary words " wait for me ! "
First watched this with my dad. He was a real Marty fan. Then we moved on together to his movies.
this is one of my favourite marty sketches i cried laughing from beginning to end this is one i remember the most thanks for posting
This is up there with the four candles sketch, only fools and horses and steptoe and son.Absolute genius.
Got this on DVD, but shared this to Facebook, dated it might be, but what class comedy, what a genius.
Seeing Margate Pier brought back memories for me. Great sketch.
Pure genius!!!! God bless Marty Feldman.
Brilliant ! I remember it so well, although I was only about 10 or 11 at the time. Great to see it again !
Fantastic and still funny, 50 yrs on!!
I remember the first time I saw this when I was in Cornwall. I was wetting myself with laughter.
Possibly his most well known sketch? Until a complete collection of his stuff comes out on DVD, the Best Of DVD that's been out a long while is worth seeking out. :-)
Excellent. ...Margate Pier and the Prospect Inn 😊😊
As a Californian, this and so many other Marty sketches & shows makes me glad to know he was already funnier before he met Mel Brooks. Too many people (USA natives included) get unfairly type-cast too often & too soon here.
Filmed in Margate mostly :)
1:23 That Pub is now the Holiday Inn Express Ramsgate - Minster
I love this clip. Got it on a great comedy moments DVD. Excellent!
Marty Feldman wrote scripts for Round The Horn too. One damned funny man.
That is just downright peculiar! A surreal sort of Benny Hill sketch!
Class is permanent!!
"Wait For Me!" lol Brilliant

How do I find that movie player?
This is one of the funniest things Feldman ever did. And it predates Python by a year (this was 1968). They learnt a lot from material like this.....
He worked with Pythons Graham Chapman & John Cleese (& the Goodies' Tim Brooke-Taylor) on At Last The 1948 Show in 1967. The 4 Yorkshiremen sketch originated there. They all knew each other, wrote & inspired each other.
Wait for me brilliant
This is classic comedy, absolutely brilliant! They dont make stuff like this anymore xx
Absolutely classic

My Dad worked at their other depot, Rushden Northants, on their famous 203 / 203M services from Rushden - London
Brilliant.
Fabulous:)
Wait for me! Wait for me!
This is scary Wills, u silly Scottsman XD
Love u really ;P
x
Lovely to see this again. Can anyone tell me what the building was on the pier, was it the lifeboat station?
Sadly we no longer make any real comedy like this anymore.
John Junkinhe coach driver was "Shake" in "A Hard Day's Night".
John Junkin :)
@@jh2264 just amended,it was a typo,I knew he was John Junkin.
@@melissabrown2109 :) x

Marty was a comic God, the Pythons and the Goodies owe him absolutely everything!!!!
HAHA that was sweet :]
That's Judie Tzuke's mum in the red and white hat. She was also in the taxi driver sketch...
OMG! How do you know that re Judy Tzuke?
So funny!
lol XD hillarious Marty Feldman is hillarious
Cool
Very very funny.
Hilarious 😂 😂 😂 😂
I swear I saw the same sketch but with Bob Todd as the driver. It mighta been redone for Comedy Machine.
And that was in real time...
haha yeah me too, but usally don't bothre with the wait for me bit cuz nobody heeds :P
Bloody funny.
So funny 😄😄😄
Poor man by time they got back he was tired
If you slow it right down it's very weird 😅
Laugh out loud comedy he was a genius, his film, The very ladt remake of Beau Geste is a classic
hehe ok!
They all sound like Morph.
Pity the clip doesn't show the whole sketch, the driver says something like "now for the afternoon tour of Europe"
.
I think he said "the lake district" but you have the idea.
Crazy but funny!!!
I know what it's like to feel abaondon! And keep saying "wait for me" no usally do! (sigh) but the sketch was very funny!
"Lewisham".
Cor you're a bundle of laughs!!! Prior to your self righteous comments, over 350 people had viewed this. Obviously dated and infantile sketches are popular!!! We'll stick to smiling if you don't mind.
Quite simply one of funniest sketches ever, the likes of which we'll never see again, thanks to the PC Brigade who have destroyed comedy.
O_o
XD
I hope poor Marty got a refund 😱

Margate's much missed pier.
Chris Murphy WAIT FOR ME!!!
Terrible they didn't wait for him he kept saying wait for me
I thought it was crap.
You would Gaynor this is comedy at its best watch Marty in Young Frankenstein or do you not have a sense of humour
Dated and rather silly and infantile sketch. Marty Feldman goes on a speeded up Pinky and Perky voiced coach tour. Wow!
