    Watching behind the scenes videos isnt the most effective way to learn how to make movies, its not even a way. Going to a university or working on set is an effective way per se. You cant learn either the craft nor the narrative part of filmmaking at home watching youtube. Its like those ads that says you can loose weight in 2 weeks just by taking a pill and staying at home. You gotta work for it if you want to be a director or a cinematographer. Watching endless amount of film, taking endless amount of photos. Reading books, learning about the great painters, writers. Start working on set, etc… So its way to complacated for learning it on youtube. The video is good tho, its instructive for someone who wants to be a filmmaker and doesnt know anything about it. But next time you should cut these outrageous bullshits, because everyone knows that is not true.

    Just a quick question. How would you able to make this short film in $8000 budget with Arri camera and heavy gear set up? If you could able to do a video about it, It would be helpful. Thanks in advance and amazing content.

    Don’t spend time on set that you could have spent during pre-prep…. Spending time on a shot that appears for a few seconded is proof of lacking pre production.. creative decision don’t or shouldn’t get made on set… get your DP involved earlier in development

    The answer to "what is the best angle for the scene" is coming by putting up the right question, which is: WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE SCENE? If u got that, then u know where to put the camera.

  • @skylinecomics

    This is what great content looks like, it's inspiring and useful. If it is possible, I would like to know How many shots were planned and shot per day? What were the roles of the crew people on set? How long were your shooting days? And How was the budget distributed? Haha too many questions, sorry.
    Btw, I subscribed right away.

  • @FelixCervantes

    Exactly how can you do a Netflix movie if you are using an Arri Amira? Last time I checked, that camera is not approved for Netflix.

    • @ZachRamelan
      @ZachRamelan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Felix, the Amira has been used for Netflix films! The Ivory Game is an example of that!
      Also, our film was shot on the A7siii (the same sensor as the FX3), Which is an approved camera.
      Finally, this is more about the process than the camera. Hope that helps (:

    apparently it doesnt take much (well you have to be up someone in Netflix's butt) to get on netflix..have you seen 28 Days Haunted. The other thing is if you seriously want to get your flick to Netflix you have to have an in the trench agent, otherwise you wont be considered unless you risk it and send unsolicited submission. On the positive side, looks like your crew is producing a top notch product and good luck with that.
