That's old scatting :) Like in Ievan polkka, too. Like the Jazz singers do-bah-bah-doo... Loituma applied that jazz style also, moving nicely from the old Finnish scat to jazz (go check the scat in that) - guess that's one of the reasons it 'struck home' over cultures barriers. Well, there's the childlike joy too in that song :)
@flbdyfy Thank you very much. Another reason to be alert in case other Finnish musicians (especially accordeonists of course) visit our country (Belgium). Two years ago we enjoyed dancing the tango to Finnish tango music in Brussels. Unfortunately I couldn't attend Ms Kalaniemi's performance here last year. Now I also added Esa Pakarinen on my list but TH-cam may be the only way to see and hear him. If only Rovaniemen markkinoilla had subtitles!
I hope that the words will be translated ...The North is rich in its diverse cultures ...Really his beauty ...I don't understand a word but i like. Thank you Kantelar
Love this song - agree with quarkandgluon this is similar to Ieva's Polka by Loituma (dilly dally bit). Maria Kalaniemi did her own version 'Ellin Polka'.
Really cheerful singing. Also what a surprise to see and hear Ms Kalaniemi on a diatonic accordeon this time! Truly another discovery on my journey through Finnish music. What a pity that I don't understand your language. What's the song about?
@pullahiiri Ei vedä ei, mutta tekevät hänen puolestaan tämän. Kunninanosoitus suurelle Pakariselle. Samoin Rautavaaran muistokonsertissa kuultuja lauluja. Eivät vedä vertoja tietenkän alkuperäisille. KUnnian osoituksia ovat. Moniko Idols-laulaja kunnioittaa vanhoja laulajia?
I want to know what's song about. Because I try to translate this song in my language (Thai) but when i use google translate (Suomi->English/Suomi->Thai) It's has many error and in university library doesn't has some finnish language book/dictionary.
Да, песня очень втыкает. Но ведь поют-то что-то типа «Стирала на речке бельё красавица Элле, поскользнулась на кусочке мыла и упала. А парень Юсси мчался на велосипеде. Попало колесо в ямку, и упал Юсси прямо на раму велосипеда».
Does the "halitili tilitali.." part near the end means something? I recall listening to the same "sounds" on Loituma's Ievan's Polkka, and someone said it was just gibberish...too bad I don't speak finnish, it's a funny language (in a good way)

Beatiful!
LOVELY!!!!
I don't understand a word, but the music creates a deep felling in my heart. What are the lyrics about?
It's about a man's advice for dating, and how he's not interested in women. He wants to die single and just play his accordion.
Wonderful!!!!
Sans doute la musique est une langue universelle.
この哀愁がたまらない
車で聴きたい!

I suppose you have learned the answer by now, but the song is about a man who refuses to marry.
it means nothing. it just sounds so good.
Olitte te ihania! Ja ootte tietysti vieläkin...
Muy lindo lo vuestro5+*****-Angel
Prachtig ... hoe kom ik aan dit liedje ...de muziek ?!
Beautiful ... How do I get this beautiful song ... the music ?!
If someone translate this song or post a link with the translation, everyone who doesn't speak Suomi (as well me) will be very grateful.
I wonder if this version is available on CD or DVD. It's brilliant!
finnish sounds like a bizzare mix of french/russia/dutch haha. awesome music

I have noticed that many comments are in russian/kyrrilic.
Is Maria popular in Russia?
If so I understand why - she is fabulous.
Russia's land Ural is historical homeland of finno-ugric peoples and many of them are living here now

Через 10 лет после изучения финского языка: «А ведь я был совсем недалёк от истины» :)
Oh no.
@@calbackk, what?
@@dushkin_will_explain Your translation is not correct. 🫣
@@calbackk, i'm not pretending. As i wrote: «Not very far from», but not «exactly».

Halitilitulitalli doesn't mean anything, it's just the Finnish shobbydubbidoo

ei vedä vertoja esalle... hyi mikä versio.
it definitely sounds russian. I think it's the accordians. Nice song though
Is this daily life in Soumi or is it a travesti?
Sounds great, and Maria is Queen.
The five people who DON'T like this are sick, twisted individuals.
