The Big Catch tells the story of the acrobatic fisherman Caster as he ventures across the world hunting for long-lost secrets and the untold history that’s lying just beneath the surface of his mysterious homeland. Caster works for the esteemed and enigmatic Chef Leurre. Alongside his kinsman and rival, Tackle, they search the vast, barren deserts for ingredients for Leurre and the titular restaurant, The Big Catch. Although a seemingly mundane task, Caster and Tackle’s journey sees them crossing paths with bands of thieves, mysterious beings from another world, corrupt politicians, regretful heretics, forest sprites, and ancient monsters-all in pursuit of the one thing of any true value left in such a wasteland: FISH.

But I do sympathize with those that have trouble understanding how people understand things. That statement about the 5th and 6th gen looks it doesn't mean a lot but OF COURSE IT DOES. There's so much to be said about the best parts from those eras and this trailer is exploding with those parts! The obvious is not obvious to some, sadly.

@@13sinra13 They should rerelease some older ps1 and ps2 era games people are nostalgic for em. Guess people miss when you could get a game and beat it in a month and not play it forever or have to play it every day for 2 hours to beat it in 3 months.
The demo is GIGANTIC and a really good proof of concept- I implore you to try it out if you’re interested!
I really am hoping they implement some kind of checkpoint warp system--being able to quick travel to places you've already been in the demo would be nicd nice, but maybe the desert will be less empty in the full release!

This trailer SCREAMED fun so I went and tried the demo. Holy SHIT it's so fluid and bouncy in all the best ways. Can't wait for the full release! I hope the demo isn't spoiling too much of the world :)

This looks Ducken good. This is the 3rd cool looking 3D platformer with a rope/swinging feature I've seen and I'm all about it
Hell yeah, congratulations on the publishing deal! It's always super cool to see games that START as smaller indie games be picked up by a publisher for the full release and go from indie to AA. I'm excited to try the demo!

Finally got the chance to play some of the Tackle Box demo, and my lord that demo alone might be one of the best games ever made. Not even exaggerating, the demo feels like a complete game in its own right, and after 3 hours of play I still feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface of the world and it’s challenges. It’s unforgiving in that, if you fail a platforming challenge there’s a good chance you’ll have to redo a ton of it if you haven’t reached one of those fishing pole shortcuts. I absolutely love this, I have never been so tested and so immersed by a 3D platformer.

Looks like the PSX filter got removed. Would be neat if we could turn it back on like in Yo Noid 2: Game of a Year Edition. Regardless, the game looks fantastic.
Here's hoping we get a GOG release in the future.
The filter is actually a toggle now! So you can switch between the old crispy look or clearer visuals if you so desire.

@DingusJoe64 I actually just recalled too lol. They have several layers to it. You can have an emulator look, the original retro look, or the retro look with a composite television filter over it as well. They look REALLY good too.

THIS is exactly what a video game should be. The demo is amazing and this entire game is overflowing with the creativity that is so tragically absent from modern gaming. Just LOOK at the title screen. 2025 can't come fast enough.

I love the fluid look of the movement mechanics. It's got a subtly perfected version of PS1 visual style. Rather than a design limitation, here, it's an ART. At the same time, it has polish that PS1 games could never achieve.
