    What size and manufacturer is your injector? Great video btw!

    I prefer to hand pour one side.
    Let it cool and then shoot the other side as normal having heated the mold first with a paint gun.

      I’ve also done that! Works great

    Just buy a blending block. Done. If you're putting money in injection molds you have the money to get a blending block

    • @CFOR-finarts
      @CFOR-finarts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah but it’s just one more thing you have to buy and for some people it may be another couple months before they can buy a blending block this is just a video to show how to do it without a dual injector to maybe make the decision on if they want to purchase an additional thing a little easier

    Too much involved. I hand pour one side, inject the other. Done. :) Cool video though! Love the intro.

      too much work? the tinkering hobby part of it is why i just got into making my own plastics..

    How did they hold up? I have heard they can come apart at the seem. What temp did you shoot the 2end half to get them to stick together well?

    • @CFOR-finarts
      @CFOR-finarts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They held up pretty well. If you have trouble with them coming apart it means the plastic that you poured is not hot enough so it might help to hit it with a heat gun or blow torch to warm it up and give the other half something to bond to

      Definitely need to reheat the one side before shooting the other half. Make sure it is tacky with a heat gun. These baits cool down quick in the top side.

    When you use the laminate plates, do the baits peel down the middle easy, I’ve been using laminate plates but the baits can be peel down the middle pretty easy and I don’t know why

    • @CFOR-finarts
      @CFOR-finarts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nick yates Yeah the baits come off the laminate plate super easy. If you do have trouble all you would need to do is use a paint brush to put a little bit of vegetable oil on the laminate plate. Just make sure you wipe the oil off the plastic before you shoot the other side

      Ready made half in the mold is too cold probably for a good bond.

    • @karlstokes874
      @karlstokes874 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you get your temperatures right and the baits wont peel apart.

    I gave you a LIKE..And I mean No disrespect
    But would It not be cheaper just to go to Wal mart to get a bag or two..No fuss, no mess.

    • @CFOR-finarts
      @CFOR-finarts  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a pretty good question. Going to the store for just a bag or two is definitely cheaper. However it could definitely cheaper to make your own baits if you are going to be constantly using plastic baits especially if you sell some to local fisherman

    • @totalnoobfishing1753
      @totalnoobfishing1753 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm all for tinkering and I love DIY, but crunching the numbers shows its NEVER cheaper to make your own baits in terms of recouping your initial investment.
      Don't get me wrong, I tie my own flys and teaser rigs and when I catch fish on them I feel AMAZING.
