Good stuff! Great job on the San Joaquin Kitfox. They just blend right in. I love that place. I've been camping there for over 40 years. Secret spots! My favorite is the Elkhorn grade Road. I have seen the pronghorn antelope many times and also have some fantastic pictures of a huge buck and all of his girls. The tule elk. They are hard to find! When I was a kid we would ride out there on our motorcycles to painted rock and climb up on top and set up our sleeping bags and eat magic mushrooms. 😂
I miss it can’t wait to go back this winter. We stay at camping site where there’s few eucalyptus trees and few 🦉 owls stay on the trees we go twice every year and they are always there. Last time we went we got caught up in a hail storm ⛈ first time ever was stunning
That's fantastic! It really is a little hidden gem in the area. I'm looking at potentially spending more time chasing down the Kit Fox's out there to show their story a bit more
You need to make yourself a drop down table for the rear door. Plenty of ideas online. I used aluminium for both the back and table, with a long piano hinge. Have fun. Keep up the vids if you can. Cheers. 👍🏻🙏🦘
I've recently done that as an upgrade, and tested it on a 2 week long personal trip! It worked a treat, so hopefully you'll see it in any upcoming videos that feature George! I intend on continuing to post once I have a better sense of the content that I want to create and share
Love your channel, bro! Just picked myself up a '03 Disco II, and though I'm sure it'll be problematic in its' own ways, I can not WAIT to go on adventures like this. Will literally be a dream come true. Please keep posting vids on your trips and the Disco
Thank you! I'm sure you'll get out with that thing and get to see some amazing places. Thank you for the encouragement! Just figuring out the right path of the channel
@@ramblingstrong9834 More than welcome! And yeah, with each day that passes here in sunny(HOT) SoCal, I get more and more anxious with taking it on a journey. Just have to get registration sorted out and im good to go! lol. You should do a full review of George!
Thank you! As for camping sites, you can camp anywhere on the preserve really, if you have a capable rig and want some views there are some gorgeous campsites up on the ridges of the nearby hills, but they can get a bit windy. My personal favorites are all spread around the west side of the preserve
That's quite a vast remote area, just how one would imagine the wild west👍 nice discovery too not over the top with modifications
It's a great glimpse into how alot of the area used to be! Around 1/4 million acres of protected land

This is exactly what I want to do, use my 4x4 to record wildlife.
I'd highly recommend it! definitely not the only way to get out filming, but a very good one

National Geographic meets LoFi. Awesome stuff.
Great video, and great Discovery! Reminds me of Nick Carver's stuff, except he bought the Toyota you wanted haha!
Thank you! And that's a very high bit of praise getting compared to Nick!
Well done and scribed. See ya over on OB.
nice. love the way you shot the video! I'll be heading there something next month or so. Any good recommendations for camping spots?
Thank you!

What is the tires size use on your discovery one ???
Running a 235/85 r16 tire at the moment
This doesnt look like corvette terrain
Not with this attitude. Anything's Corvette terrain if you want it to be
Enjoyed the video.
Music/ clap track was a little annoying. Other than that nice work. Love the Discovery.
Always check the oil 😂
Just got to check that the engine hasn't fallen out, and that it's still full of some sort of fluid! 😂
Post more videos.
Haha thank you for the motivation, and I intend to!
What type of fuel did you use?
I run 91 octane Premium gas in George as per the original specs
Do you smoke weed when you visit places in your vehicle?
