- We are currently in Vang Vieng, Laos and decided to compare what it is like to stay at a cheap hotel compared to a more expensive hotel. We also had planned to do some really fun activities during our time in Vang Vieng but we both ended up getting food poisoning and ended up only seeing the bathroom, our bed and the view from our balcony :(

Oh food poisoning is the absolute worst..I hope you've both fully recovered since then! Somehow y'all still managed to put up an awesome video despite the sickies! We love you guys!
I am binge watching your vids. Probably watched a years worth so far. I would totally be OK with a $20 room to wretch, run to the toilet & sleep off food poisoning LOL

We would totally take the $20 room. We feel we would be out of our room all day so for us $200 wouldn't be worth it. Great video guys. A lot would be wondering the difference. :)

Ya any fresh fruits and veggies in a country without a regulated water supply is risky, especially for people from first world countries who haven't built up an immunity to all of the parasites/bacteria.
Simple tips when you have food poisoning , do not eat anything until you feel hungry. Let your body get rid of the toxic food from your body. When everything is out from your body, you will feel hungry.
I wish you would put the date this was actually filmed on in the description like some other vloggers do. :) Still loving the vlogs and watching every single one over here.
Btw you should come to Brazil and travel the whole country for like 6 months or something hahahaha that would be awesome footage and I'm sure you'd have a blast.

Nothing worse than getting sick like that. We've had a few fun times because of all the food we try. Do you guys know about or travel with charcoal tablets? It's absolutely amazing. Whenever you think your tummy isn't right start popping charcoal and you'll either not get sick at all or you'll only get a very mild version. The charcoal attracts the bad things that are inside you and removes them from your system. And an added plus is it's all natural. They're never expensive to buy but we have found that the 7/11's in Thailand totally do the cheapest ones going. Cheers and hope you're feeling better. Thomas

I am, somehow, hooked with you two after finding out your videos. starting clips from your Myanmar trip, your clips appeared in my recommended list. i feel cozy and comfortable watching you two, which i felt cringe at som otheres' . Anyway, thanks for sharing..... I've had food poison twice when i was young.... i know how it feels........
Ugh. Food poisoning is the worst. I can relate to this - I got sooo sick once in Mexico from something I ate and my flight was leaving that day! I always carry a first-aid kit now with stomach meds and traveler's diarrhea antibiotics since that incident hah. Hope you two have recovered!
Food poisoning is really common here in South East Asia. Better to be prepare for it all the time and get some ultra carbon pills or capsules cause they're really good against food poisoning. You can easily get them at a local pharmacy or drugstore. I really know how it feels to have food poisoning, it sucks. Get well soon and keep on travelling.
Hmmm, sorry to say, but you guys were ripped off on both rooms. Vang Vieng is amazing though 👍
It seems that it was the 200$ hotel where you guys got sick... :( Growing up in Mexico I was told to never eat food off the street, but it's hard to know when you want to try the local food right?

doing this comparison in Laos it's not too fair considering that the low price accommodations are not that good! completely different story in Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia! btw I got exactly the same kind of food poisoning in Vang Vieng as you guys:S too bad you didn't manage to see much of the place, it's actually beautiful!

Omg this was me last week in the Philippines 🙈 we had also just moved to a $200 a night hotel and couldn't of asked to be sick in a better place haha

When I had bad food poisoning, I just ate a little bit of food, little bit of gatorade, very frequently

I would definitely expect to have a walk-in shower in a $200 hotel room. Amazing view though.

Seems like not the greatest value for the $200 room. I think similar rooms in other places in Thailand could go for $40 dollars, beautiful view though.
Koh Lanta is a good example of value, we visited in 2014 and paid $16 for a room between those two in quality.
