- He's the heavy favourite to be the next leader of the federal Conservatives. He's a relentless attack dog that loves a good partisan brawl. He's angry. Especially at Justin Trudeau. Just ask him.
But that's not all there is to the man. Under the public persona is something else.
The question is why it's mostly kept buried, and if Poilievre thinks it's better to keep it that way?
The liberal media’s efforts to smear Pierre won’t work. Pierre has my vote.

In the piece, they said that he is speaking to the base, but won’t attract new voters. I couldn’t disagree more. Pierre is social media savy and speaks to a younger generation that wants opportunity and fundamentally rejects wokist ideology. I was a liberal not long ago, and yet I bought my CPC membership just last week. If I can change, so too can others. Besides, with the mess Trudeau is making of this country, this is Pierre’s race to loose.

I think Pierre is the most positive person to be in parliament I've ever seen, great ideas and actually has common sense, he can answer questions yes or no and can back up his answers with facts, he doesn't TELL Canadians what they want and what they think, he asks, so I'm sure msm and reporters will try to twist the facts even try the power of suggestion to put negative ideas out there but he has my vote every day of the week so go Pierre your a REAL leader!

well I think the answer is the media repeatedly plays him as an attack dog, when all I see is an intelligent articulate man who has a better understanding of economics than anyone else in the house. The media simply refuses to ever address his substantive points because he is also the only person in the house with a sense of humour and wit and likes to flex his debate skills and rhetoric.
Also how is his freedom tagline any more vague and amorphous than anyone else's. Trudeau stands for less than Pierre and no one questions him on it but he's intellectual just not there.

Well. He is an attack dog. Out of all members of the conservative caucus he is the most aggressive one to talk/debate to in the commons. Even the conservative magazine Mcleans calls him an attack dog since.

I really paid full attention when I watched every hour of that strong and lengthy filibuster he gave in the HOC. So impressive in fact, that I taped it, downloaded Hansard and copy/pasted the entire script for family, friends and any of the many others interested in knowing more of who Pierre Poilievre is.
Attack dog? Heck no! Churchillian!! He was brilliant. I know he will make a GREAT PRIME MINISTER.
I also think of the gigantic chore that awaits our next PM, who really should be Pierre, and look upon the coming challenges he'll face as though comparable though different to the ruin brought down on Ukraine. How to begin rebuilding and recover an entire country!?

I think he's swinging the vote more than this woman gives credit for. I've seen many LPC voters say they will be voting CPC now for Pierre, and I've also seen that he's popular among quite a few young people. I've never voted CPC and I know I will be voting for him. I've also never had any political membership before and got one just to vote for him. I think there are going to be people out there who are going to be super shocked because they refuse to face reality. Liberals only had a minority government and CPC had the popular vote in the last election, next time I think CPC will have majority government with Pierre.

I agree, I know several people who have always voted liberal & a few who voted NDP say that if Pierre become leader they will vote Conservative, I've been a big proponent of letting highly trained immigrants work in the industry they were trained in with a minimum of red tape, maybe doctors would work under a canadian doctors for a year or so, to learn Canadian procedures, but they should be doctors, not cab drivers...
@@kevinmoore5053 100% I've met cab drives who have told me they were engineers, doctors, and other highly skilled jobs in their home country but here they're left driving a cab. I do think we need to make sure they are trained up to Canadian standards, but surely there are easier ways to accomplish that. As you suggested, if they're trained as a doctor they can work alongside an experienced Canadian doctor for a year, or maybe they can take a fast track course for free. They gotta do something though, it's not right.

I also found it baffling that they couldn’t accept him at face value, insisting that his “attack dog” persona was just that, a persona. Though never considering even once that they are confusing his “aggression” with passion, tenacity and conviction. IMO This is why he got confused by some of the questions like, “what will you be like as PM?”, because within the question is an implicit assumption that who he is now is somehow disingenuous. I actually WANT the person he is now to be EXACTLY the same guy as PM! Canada is in rough shape and needs a straight shooter like Pollievre to whip us back into shape. Jordan Peterson tells us to, “Clean your room!” And Pollievre is the guy to make us do it!!!!

If you want Pierre to be the next leader of the Conservative Party (and then Prime Minister with a majority government), consider buying a membership in the Party in order to be able to vote for him in the next Party leadership race. so she said that Pierre is not the leader that will get the stray or cross-over votes but I beg to differ. I am a lifelong NDP'r and would never have considered a vote for the Liberals and especially the Conservatives but he has stirred something in me that has made me question my beliefs so much that I just took out a membership in the Conservative party 4 days ago.

Shocking nobody brings up the fact that Poilievre is an adopted child to Sask-Francophone school teachers. He is literally the opposite of an elitist!! I have been following him for the last few years and have been hoping he’d run for the conservative leader. He actually gives an in depth answer to questions and shows he takes the time to understand the topic he’s discussing. Very different than the current liberal party that has a hard time answering a question without resorting to simply regurgitating talking points.

Pierre has been around and giving interviews for several years now….I’ve listened to podcasts on little radio shows where I have easily gotten a true sense of who he is. I don’t blame him for being a bit reluctant to share all with the big media who will then turn it around on him. I think we are in need of a true blue conservative in our country right now and he certainly will have my vote.

This carbon tax does nothing but cause economic/financial harm. They know it and the parliamentary budget officer confirms this. My family and I voted NDP and now we will be voting conservative, some older liberal/ NDP voters are breaking a 15-ish year streak of being left party voters.

Pierre’s “talking points” are not unsatisfactory. It’s exactly what we want.
As someone who is sick and tired of a big government getting bigger and constantly poking their nose where it doesn’t belong, all we want is to be left alone so we can go to work and love on our families without being distracted by a pesky annoying government.

I’ve been waiting for a guy like Poilievre for sometime. They try to paint him as far right and anti-vaxx, except his fully vaxxed, has advocated for people to get their shots, and is actually quite progressive. That’s the beauty of freedom.

It is time we had someone smart at the helm. Someone who has worked hard to earn his position. Someone who is respected by the middle and lower classes and is willing to talk to all the people of Canada. Someone who is not afraid to hear different perspectives. Someone who is ethical and fair. These two interviewers were trying so desparately to find something to grasp as for his motive. Growing during that time in Calgary and what Alberta went through it is simple to understand that his pure goal is to simply make life better for Canadians. He is motivated by the meaning it gives someone who has gone through the adversity like Albertans did in the 80s to make sure that no one else ever experiences that ever again. There is no motive. He is running because HE CARES about the people. He cares about making a difference and you see that especially when he talks in person. It's because believes so much in what he's doing.
When will you msm learn that we are not interested in YOUR opinion. When Pierre answers your question as to what he means by "the freest country" we don't want to hear what YOU THINK he means by that after he just told you what he means by this comment. You msm journalist (loosely used term) have to learn to be bias and just report the facts. Re-educate yourself what integrity is.
My life-long liberal girlfriend got goosebumps the moment she heard Pierre was running - somebody who would never have been interested in a conservative before.

Freedom cannot be fully captured or defined, that is the beauty of it, it's whatever you want it to be, it's thinking outside of the box sometimes, not scared of your own ideas, freedom is taking ownership of your life. As an artist I understand this concept, however most people don't because they are so used to following others that they are perhaps a little scared of freedom or thinking for themselves, it can seem overwhelming.
Pierre is visionary, I think that statement is amazing, "making Canada the freest country on earth" it's pure and powerful. I think people are so used to liberal lies and popaganda and a lot of nonsense talk, that when someone like Pierre comes around and is coherent and rational, they cannot recognize reality anymore.

I like Pierre too but if we want him to become the next PM, we're all going to have vote for whomever your local Conservative MPP is whether you like them or not. That's the only thing I hate about the Canadian electoral system.

We can all do something as little as buying a membership for $15 so we can vote Pierre for leader, we can share any post about Pierre on our facebook page, we can offer to volunteer for the elections or we can just speak about Pierre to all our friends and family. If we all do at least one of these things.....amazing things will happen!
The reason Mr Poilievre is so convincing to me is that his arguments are logical and his goals so vital. Freedom is so vital for any nation to thrive in it’s soul. And the soul of a nation is it’s people….. A people who believe that freedom and justice for all is at it’s core.
Pierre is principled, consistent, knowledgable, and bilingual. He has my vote!
But Pierre supports Putin, who is a bloodthirsty dictator who committed crimes in Ukraine.
I heard worse from Republicans he is far from an attack dog if asking for truth is an issue than grow up, poilievre has alot of experience in humanitarian aid and civil rights he also did charities.
It seems to me that Pierre doesn’t see himself as an attack dog, and it does annoy him that others label and brand him as that. I don’t think he planned that either I believe that happened sort of naturally and generically. He felt and feels strong powerful, passionate ways about things and he has the education and deep profound knowledge, understanding, awareness, and intelligence to know how to express it and articulate it into a laser focused thought of expression. Which is exactly why Pierre will make an amazing PM
