I've been wearing my Workhog boots every day for the last 4 years, and still, they are the most comfortable boot I've ever owned. Though they aren't as waterproof as when I first got them, I still have no second thoughts about walking through a deep puddle. Finally ordering my second pair when my size is back in stock.
Ariat workhog XL H2O with "boa" lace system for Pull on. Can't find anything that shows how they work... Lace ups can be seen.... So I assume pull ons are inside the shaft under fabric but not sure how that system works. ...I'm a wheelchair manual user and very involved with horses & farm life. ... A lot of times I have to get out my chair and drag myself to get things done so pull ons get caught and fall off alot so I am restricted to lace style. Sitting and not moving legs does cause swelling and I have to take breaks to get swelling go down which can take up more time bc it takes time get laces on and off which means more wasted time not getting work that needs to be done. .... I like how these boots can help release pressure fast and get on and off quicker but here again can't find any video on how the pull on version works internally. Would appreciate greatly if you can get a pair to do a review please.
Another great video! Thanks! I've got to make a couple recommendations for boots that are good for back pain seeing that I've got a damaged back from falling down some metal stairs some time ago. Red Wing makes a model that is very similar called the Rio Flex for only about $30 more. They have a few colors, different protective toes, and even a lace-up to choose from. Another great series from them is the Flexforce models. Lots of cushion from the midsole and insole. I've got a pair of 4448's that are fantastic! Irish Setter has the Marshall which is also made by Red Wing for about the same price as the Ariat's. The pair of Marshall's I had lasted nearly six years before the lining came loose. That was the ONLY thing that ever went wrong with them. The sole hadn't even really begun to wear out, and I'm a 6'4" 300+lb man! Very comfortable and extremely hard working boots! I couldn't destroy them no matter what I put them through! I did a lot of land clearing, construction, land/home maintenance, and farm/ranch work. That pair of boots saw all sorts of rough terrain, ice, water, snow, mud, concrete, manure, fire, chemicals, underbrush...you name it they saw it and for 10-18 hour/six day work weeks! A friendly tip when buying slip-on western style boots: square toes are easier on your feet if you're going to be in them a lot. That bit of wiggle room makes a huge difference!

As badly as I injured my back I actually couldn't have worked without those boots! I got the full work-up at the Red Wing store. The one I go to in Oklahoma City is owned by a licensed podiatrist and he puts inserts in for free when you buy from him. They will stretch to fit as well as oil your boots for life too (but you have to clean them yourself). Quite the bargain! Thanks for the response and gratitude!
I had a new pair of ariat groundbreakers and the upper and lower was glued together and came unglued after 2 months of light wear, so you say these are actually sewn together upper and lower? Couldn't tell because you cut down the middle. Thanks!
It was hardly worn casual wear. The complete bottom rubber stitches and all came off of upper. Luckily it had warranty and they sent me out a new pair of similar style. They said it was a defect.
i have the work hog XT’s and they were solid for like a month at work but one random day i noticed one boot wasn’t waterproof anymore, one foot was completely soaked. do you know what most likely failed? the liner somehow?
You can respray the leather with silicone waterproofing spray or treated with oil. You can use a high-quality shoe goop around between the sole and the leather, if there is an area that is coming apart.
Do you absolutely need to? No. Should you? Yes. I’ve had probably 6 pairs of work hogs, some I treated quite often, others maybe once or twice a year, and always before I wear them when new. The more frequently treated ones hold up better.

Ariat makes great stuff, I wish they were made in the USA, they’re good though, only thing I don’t like is their waterproof liner begins to stink really quickly, like a week or so in warm weather and you’ve got yourself some smelly boots! With that said, I like that they offer B widths for narrower feet, critical if you have narrow feet like I do, nothin crappier than flopping around in loose boots lol!
I've owned more than a dozen pairs of ariat workhogs and they are comfortable but they aren't waterproof and they need to be replaced at least every year. More frequently if you actually work in them
Did the outsole start coming apart from the top rest of the boot I had Justin's and they have lasted about 8 moths and now there complete garbage the toughest boots I've ever had was caterpillar second shift steel toe they weren't very comfortable but they lasted 5 years for and I got them on sale for 80$
@@ilikedogs8867 I had another pair of Ariat do that but there weren't Workhogs, I forget what line they were. Workhogs were very comfortable and easy to break in but were not waterproof. I've upgraded to Nick's BuilderPros and will probably be buried in these boots haha!!

They’re great for summer they don’t have a great insole so you still have to buy another insole because it’s pretty hard on your feet if you’re on your feet all day. They are not good for winter at all. You will freeze in the winter in these boots. I have owned a pair for years.
Yeaaaa the waterproof membrane on these boots sucks. I’ve worn a few pairs of work hogs, and my most recent set is a waterproof version and even reconditioning the leather my feet get wet walking through wet grass. Also If you wear them daily like I do, expect to replace the insoles in 8-10 months and the boots in a year and a half or two.
testing is not a waste. don't be so dense. rose anvil has destroyed over a hundred thousand dollars in boots and all it has done is save people money. car manufactures do crash tests for a reason. so please come back with some more sound logic if you are going to be so arrogant.

These did have the upper sewn to the sole, so unless the stitch rotted and came apart, the sole shouldn't come unglued on these

I use mink oil right when I get them seems to hold up much longer
