A dollar saved is a dollar earned. Many o/o's fail because they have to go to the shop for everything. Good job, Sir. Egit: Looks like 10K soon... Congrats!
Very close to 10K If you’re going to own your own truck, you definitely need to know how to do some repairs. And at least get your own oil change. I save $300 every time I change my own oil.
Awesome video, you do such a great thorough explanation of ways to fix things on your truck & I'm sure it helps other drivers out that need it, so thank you driver.
Very good information. I replaced the value on my peterbilt truck back in 2020 . Before I replaced the valve the air bags were too high but everything was great with the new value. Very good video.
@OTRBandit Everything looked with the valve I replaced on my truck. It's moving all of the time when the truck is moving. It probably let air pass and that was why it over inflated the air bags?
Good video. “Put down your purse “ comment was 😂😂. I agree that labelling and photos are the best. I got cocky once on a disassembly and did not do that, relying only on my failing memory which was a disaster 😄. Thanks for posting and stay safe Driver!
I had to throw in some humor in there 😂😂 I take allot of pictures when disassembling something. My memory is too crappy to remember some of this stuff.
Great block of instruction Bandit! Much appreciated. I have watched this other guy do the same thing with air lines and he attached zip ties (tie wraps) of different colors to match them up. I know harbor freight sells them. Maybe this will work for you? Good to see you again buddy!
Hey Buddy, wondering on concrete just brought me back to how many times back in the day did we work on crush and run or clay dirt or something like that. Keep teaching and sharing. Thank You.
Great job Bandit, I’m guessing the leveling valve on the trailer is fine, also how much tread depth do have on those drives? Looks like baby needs shoes, how much does Peterbilt charge to bring your truck to O/op Specs? Last, have you pulled any JENNI-O turkeys out of MINNESNOWTA yet going down to Strasburg Virginia? I use to love ❤️ pulling anything out of Minnesota because everything has good Miles on it.
Thank you buddy. I think leveling valve is good on the trailer but I will get that replaced as well just to be on the safe side. I think tires should be good for another year. Not looking forward to replacing those because it’ll be allot of money. I haven’t been up to Minnesota yet with reefer. I’m still trying to figure out what area I want to run with the reefer.
Great video my friend, Pprrrrrttttt. Yes sir, thanx for that information, glad you now have the new landing gear crank handle. When you did the test ride with the trailer, I presume it was empty, do you think with having a load, maybe anywhere from 25,000-44,000, that the ride will still be better since replacing the leveling valve ?? Ok buddy, stay safe out there, looking forward to the next video, keep 'er between the mayo & mustard..
I did drive it with loaded trailer and it seems to be working fine. I did run into another problem where I had to take it to a shop but all of that is resolved now as well. So we’ll be good to roll sometime tomorrow.
With the cordless impact wrenches that we have now wouldn’t be much easier just to put a socket on it and crank it up and down with a cordless impact wrench or is this a stupid question
I’ve actually thought about that long time ago when I had a hard cranking landing gear. I think it would totally be doable. Just gotta weld socket on there or something.
@@OTRBandit I never had to crank my trailer hard, before retiring that is, just crank the landing gear to about an inch to the ground and dump the air bags and pull out. No problem. What I liked about the Pete suspension is when you hit a bump in a curve it goes up and down and not side to side. Good job man.
Hey Buddy! @2:01 You could JB weld it and throw some black spray paint on the frame ( don't clean it first) and be like the other junk tree streamer :)
Hi my Friend, quick question will you be sandblastings your trailer frame to get rid of the surface rust? I hope so because you truck and trailer will look great and I would paint it so it matches your truck too if it isn't too much cost wise.
Hello Robert, I will definitely be sand blasting landing gear and trailer tandems and I will paint them as well. I think I will do that sometime this summer while I’m on vacation.
You know how many people can’t even work on their own cars and they own a semi truck 😂… always love seeing people working on their own rigs … I am in the process of adding a suspension dump to my cascadia as it did not come with one
I like working on my own truck. Saves allot of money. I think every owner operator should know how to fix some of these basic things. I’m surprised your truck didn’t come with suspension dump. I think you should be able to find some videos on TH-cam of someone installing one of those.
I'm curious, why didn't you adjust your old leveling valve, instead of buying a new one? Was the old one leaking? I don't understand the rationale for the swap.
@@randallmercer4995No need, the adjustment is made and set when installed, once a component such as this valve failed an adjustment will not be of use, what will happen is the component will become “busy” or “void” of work all together, in either state of operation the system induces further damage to components in correlation with the valve, it’s advantageous to simply replace the valve.
As for no video of prior measurements confirming overinflation to us as an audience, if one intimately knows his equipment (as he does) he showed us the overinflated bags in which the bell/spring seat at the bottom was all but completely exposed, indicating over extension.
I assumed it was bad but I wasn’t sure. I should have measured before I disassembled it but I totally forgot. I just decided to throw new one on there because something was definitely wrong with the old one.
Great job buddy, yessir! You saved your self a million dollars vs having some shop do that work!! The videos are wonderful. Watch out for that eclipse man, you might get sucked into a time vortex and wind up back in Florida 😂😂 peace bro
id be embarrassed to drive the trailer with all that rust on the landing gear,,paint it man, look sharp when you mojo, landing gear looks like a herd of indians drive it, think your new name is sahib

that's nice we should not be ignorant to fix those little things that's fantastic
Wish I had my own shop, I could do allot more work than I can right now.
I think it’s awesome that you take your time and explain everything for other folks. Great job!! Keep safe.
Thank you very much, buddy. I’m hoping this video helps someone someday.

It looks so much better with the new crank
Yes sir. It will look allot better once I get everything sand blasted and repainted.
Comme toujours bonne vidéo. Tres bien expliqué le changement du répartiteur d'air.c'est comme cela qu'on l'appelle en France. Bonne route.
I really appreciate you watching all the way from France my friend 🙏🏼
Hi Bandit
Great video, for truck drivers , lol.
Have a great rest of your day. Waiting for your next run.
Take care, be safe Linda
Thank you Linda 🙏🏼 I’ll have another driving video tomorrow.
Thnx for your videos Bandit. Love them!!

Thank you very much buddy. I have some different colors electrical tape that I’ve used, I just didn’t wanna dig to find it this time.
When it gets warmer outside, I would paint the landing gear black. Very nice set up you have. Buddy!
Thank you very much 🙏🏼 I will get it sand blasted and painted this summer while I’m on vacation. Will definitely look much better.
Great video! Respect!
Thank you very much 🙏🏼

Thank you buddy 🙏🏼 have a blessed day.
That sound you heard is the angle the drive shaft, and u joints fighting to make everything work.

Good old days. I appreciate you watching my friend 🙏🏼
Hello my friend u make everything look so else very nice job done ❤
Thank you so much 🤗
I think after sandblasting the landing instead of paint I would use pick up truck bed liner that way it won't chip off from rocks thats kicked up
I might end up doing that.
Your a great instructor, my Peterbuilt has the same suspencen as yours. Thank you for the tips. PS you didnt swear enough. LOL
lol I was having a good day. Maybe next video.
Yessir finally someone to explain it clearly

It is clearly malfunctioning since the airbags were over inflated

Need to have everything in top shape just in case I get pulled in for an inspection by some revenue collector.
