Today, my favourite amp sim is the Revv Gen Red model. It ROCKS! Feel free to subscribe it would make me smile a bit 😜 Follow me on Instagram: @thetonyemery
Good tip is to just turn the High Cut to on at the highest frequency of 20k(at the least). Just so it's doing something. Helps cut out some fizzle. But I prefer to do most of my High Cut on the cabinet, all the way down to the 7-10k hz range depending on cab type. This will cut out most all the nastier fizz and really makes the modeling sound far more natural, as real guitar cabs dont usually go over 9k or so.
I record using the USB out straight into my PC > DAW. So where I have the volume knob set to makes no difference at all as all that is doing is feeding the volume to my monitors 😀
The HELIX needs custom-IR's to sound really good... Does the Line6 POD GO custom-IR's, too...to sound really good? Cheers and thanks a lot...!!! Tony rules.
Everything like the amps and cabs are the same as the Helix Cherry. Whether or not they sound 'better' is a personal thing. I personally think they do 😀
For metal, the Helix/Pod Go cabs aren't great, but you can still get something decent with them if you experiment enough. I think the 121 and 160 mics are essential use, and I think the 4x12 Greenback 25 and 4x12 Blackback 30 can sound decent with these mics. I've not had success with much else. 3rd party IR's are definitely recommended, but wont stop you from sounding good necessarily. You'll just be a lot more limited without them.
Everyone of these Pod Go tone videos in all actuality deceive people. The Pod itself dose not contain this particular lead tone. This guy purchased an Impulse Response off the internet and downloaded it into the Pod Go. So go figure 🤔
Yes, I would very much like to know the parametric EQ trick :)

Sounds great!
Please show the EQ trick...
It is amazing!!! Any chance you share this preset?
I'm unable to share this preset as I'm using a 3rd party IR. Best thing to do is copy my settings if you want and use your own IR on there.
What Heavy Hitters Pack? 1 or 2?
Just got this unit myself. What cab IR are you using?
It's an EVH Celestion speaker from Ownhammers Heavy Hitters pack.
What pickups are in your guitar?
Pickups designed by Musicman specifically for the Luke iii

Yes because the stock IR's are identical between helix and pod go.
