Hello my name is Exio, you are very talented I have a question I learned that a down beat is when we play the first key on top of the next keys that we would play is this correct ?
@@HashesRecordings I am not sure if I understand your question. It seems you are talking about voicing. Downbeat and upbeat is about rhythm. If you have a specific example about your question, that will be easier for me to explain. Thanks
@@InnerArtofMusic Example; A B A C A D A E A F and so on that is considered a down beat?
@@HashesRecordings Do you have sheet music? Down beat is about rhythm, it is not about notes. If all the A notes are the first note of each measure, yes, that's down beat.
yes @InnerArtofMusic Thank you very much for your generosity I subscribed.
Pls upload video how to play it piano as soon
Thanks! It makes sense now.
Very helpful and something I never learned as a kid taking piano lessons. Would love to see more lessons from you.
Am trying to play it for along time
Thanks Dr Xu, that's very helpful, even for beginner like me. My challenge at this point is the control. I want to play chords lighter than melody, either between right and left hand, or sometimes between fingers on one hand. But I am still struggling with it. Thanks.
To control volume between fingers is more difficult than between hands. Yes, it's challenging.
Hello Dr Xu, thank you for the informative video. Could I please clarify something regarding 4/4 time signature there are two downbeats 1 and 3. Is 3 played as strong as 1 or weaker than beat 1 but stronger than the upbeats 2 and 4?
I think the 3rd beat should be weaker than 1st beat, but stronger than 2nd and 4th beats. You may feel like f, p, mf, p.
