    What impresses me the most is being able to produce this great video while doing the build, because getting out of the building zone ain't easy. Lots of bending, measuring and mostly head scratching. Well done mate.

    I had the same idea of breathable fabric that you can print on since I'm turning my room into a studio but still want the "chill" atmosphere when people come over :)
    Could use it to create interesting clouds and wall panels. If you happen to find it please let me know!

    Rose Brand Theater Curtains are one of the best ways to address wall treatment. You can easily control how live you want the room to be by pulling it back. great to divide the room too if you want to really deaden the space. Very expensive but running it on track so you can move it around is killer.

    Really awesome stuff man! Stoked for ya. Only thing I wasn’t sure of was the mineral wool not having any cover on it? That stuff is horrible for inhalation.

    • @RecordingStudioLoser
      @RecordingStudioLoser  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ruxol is the recommended insulation for places where breathability is a concern. Any sound insulation- Even if it was wrapped to totally kill airflow- effectively renders it useless.

    I don't know if it helps at all because I live in Russia) But I printed covers for my panels in a shop that makes flags. Here this material is called "gabardine" and costs $10 for sq. meter with printing. It's specifically made to be breathable so the flags don't become just unmanagable huge sails.

    Ask any local print shop, almost all of them can do it. I used to print stuff like that all the time with a local shop in Texas and almost all of the shops in town could do it. High schools bands do it all the time for props on field so the wind can flow through them and not knock them down.

    Congrats, Jeremy! I’m curious about the weirdness you experienced buying your curtain. I’m by no means a soft goods (how we refer to curtains and drops in theatrical settings) expert, but I have worked as a tech in theaters for over 12 years. First thing I’ll bet was odd was the small dimension you were asking for maybe threw the company off at first. Second I’d guess they maybe asked you questions about fireproofing (conventional theatrical lighting and laser type lighting can set this stuff ablaze in no time), and they’re likely used to fireproofing as a matter of course to meet fire codes. I understand that is an expensive undertaking that you were probably wanting to opt out of for your purposes. Last thing I’d guess is maybe they asked questions about a bottom pocket for pipe or chain, and if the top should be seamed flat or with ‘fullness’ (a wavy texture). All shots in the dark, as I’ve only dealt with existing installations. How’d that go for you?

    • @RecordingStudioLoser
      @RecordingStudioLoser  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The actual order wasn’t strange. They are a custom made to order place. It was after the order was purchased that was odd. Shipping. Getting updates. Thinking I was getting ghosted… but It all worked out. They were great.
