That came out really pretty! I think you're the first person I've seen take the gilt cream off the high spots with the oil, and I think that makes you the first person I've seen use it right! The effect is wonderful!
Stumbled on this by accident and this is exactly what I have been looking for, regarding a finish. Looks amazing!!!
@gazsto thanks. Yes it still looks decent after a few years so it's a reliable finish. 👍🏻 cheers
Nice job, well done!
Cheers Kevin. It's still a style of finishing I like, although will split opinion.
Beautiful

Very nice John love how you have managed to bring the grain out. Good colour choice too. Just found your channel and have subscribers.
Cheers Buddy. Subbed back and on IG. 👌🏻 need to get some more content out . Got the ideas queuing !
Dividing nothing here, I think it looks great mate 👍
Thank you. 👍🏻
Will the wood accept polyurethane gloss after you wipe off the gilt stuff?
I would have thought so as it takes Danish oil. But I haven't used poly before.
bravooo
Looks like ash !?!?!
Could be... I'm not sure to be honest. Grabbed something with open grain. 👍🏻

Thank you so much 👍🏻. The process is mainly from the article, to be honest. But there isn't much out there on TH-cam.
