To all who say that Plushenko is only a technical skater and nothing more, look for his gala and Kings on Ice videos, don't judge him only by his contest performances, where he does what he must, according to the ISU Judging System. Even there he does the best by blending technical and artistic elements. He doesn't cry or dance hip-hop for you and he's not a clown, like most of you would like him to be. He is an athlete and the best one, a living legend, like it or not. Instead of searching for his non-existent mistakes, you all should feel honored that he still performes for us and that we still can see him on the ice...not for long, unfortunately he will retire after Sochi....so enjoy him as long as you have him.

Wow. He`s 30, but still skates very good. He has elegant and great style, charisma, and excellent tecnic. Some people are blind. Plushenko, in his 30`s... he can win a medal. He´s the best skater of history.

I'll admit, he was never my favorite skater but it made me so very happy to see he's still at it! He's the very last of all the wonderful skaters that emerged in the late 90's/early 00's to still be skating so it will be very bittersweet for me when he finally retires.
I'm North-American and I enjoy Plushenko quite a bit. I don't think you should throw all of us into a certain category based on a comment made to a video posted. Thanks.

No way that's a performance for 91 points. The Russian judges are notorious for inflating marks especially the components.. I'm not saying Plshenko's skating is bad.. but there was a huge lack of transitions.. it was mostly just crosscuts with arms, gliding on two feet with arms and so forth.. also the lack of choreography within the step sequence tell about his lack of mastery over the edges and turns.. his skating skills are higher than they should be.. performance was good though.

He is great for technique, there is no doubt. However, his motion, movement of artistry is not up to date. Very poor dancing and boring. He needs dancing lesson. Over reaction and over confidence of his execution, which makes audience very uncomfortable. Because, he is not perfect and this kind of expression is not suitable somehow sorry. If people have this feelings he would not be compatible for Sochi. Believe it or not. Why people don't say this things to him and help him to achieve more. That is very obvious. Still very immature movement and artistry. Be modern!
