This is the house the Movie “The Conjuring” was based on.
The house was built in 1736 and it last sold on 6/21/2019 for $439,000.
Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, a couple who are paranormal investigators from Maine bought the property. Cory told the Sun Journal he has “had a hard time staying there by himself. He doesn’t have the feeling of anything evil, [but] it’s very busy. You can tell there’s a lot of things going on in the house.” He also stated in the interview that they have “had doors opening, footsteps and knocks”.
Since purchasing the property, they have developed a business allowing horror tourists, investigators, paranormal enthusiast and anyone who is interested to book the house overnight.
Recently People journalist, “Julie Jordan and a few of her girlfriends-the ‘Ghost Moms’-braved the night at the Rhode Island farmhouse”
According to the article, the ladies started investigating at around 11 p.m. and ended at 4:30 a.m. During the investigation their motion detectors went off a times for no apparent reason, they heard footsteps, saw a ball of light in a corner where there was no light source, shadows seemed to be closing in on them, a table somehow shifted into one of their legs even though no one was next to it, a book fell off a shelf on to the floor hard. Ultimately it sounded like they had a great time!
Rates for an overnight are $125 per person, except on weekends, when it's a flat $750 for six guests and $125 for each additional person. For more information about the Farm on Round Top Road or to book a stay, visit TheConjuringHouse.com.
The house is currently for sale and they are asking $1,200,000.
According to the listing you are not just purchasing an old house, but an infamously allegedly haunted old house and business, "The current caretakers have reported countless happenings in the house, and have turned overnight guest bookings and group events on the property into a steady successful business".
Rhode Island law does not consider any death in the home to be "material fact"; therefore, it is not required to be disclosed. If a buyer asks, and the seller knows, then they should answer truthfully, but no legal action shall be brought against the seller and agent for failing to disclose.
