Coming from trading CFDs and lossing a lot of money, you have no idea how useful your channel is to me right at this moment, education at it's finest ..thank you sir!!
IIUC, Sierra now has the "game changing" feature-- right-clicking below a buy order will bring you stop to that level, and likewise above will bring your closest TP limit to that level.
They are any orders that get traded. Could be a market order that got matched with a limit order on the book. There's always two participants to every trade, and in stocks sometimes a middle man too.
I am a stock daytrader and I wonder if the footprint charts can be used for stocks as well considering that there are dark pool orders which may or may not show up in the time & sales, as I can see a huge benefit of using the footprint chart instead of the candlesticks
Chris, thank you very much for this video, it's just what I was looking for! I have a question, if you could only have one software for DOM and footprint analysis, would you choose Sierra Chart or Jigsaw?
Oh so that foot print chart is like a volume profile chart for each candle stick/tick? I have a custom volume profile study program that gives overall average of charts volume profile as well as individual days chart. So like say you were looking at a 10 day 15 minute time frame you would get the volume profile break down for the last 10 individual trading days and also a summed average of all 10 days on far right of chart.. It is helpful at pin pointing break out price levels. I can only imagine how nice it would be to have this on an individual candle stick!
Which platform are we referring to? In Sierra they have something called the historical pullback data, I think this might be what you are asking about.
1) how do you show "histogram" for the booktrader? I can't find this setting!! it's supposed to show the orders filled? 2) for that one click move order, do u mean if u click above the current "last", it will have a profit taker while if you click below the current "last", it will move the stop? 3) Could you share your hotkey/mouse setup for booktrader? just for reference
Hi Kelvin it's in the booktrader settings. (volume histogram) 2. That is correct, and in the case of a short trade it would be the opposite. I don't really use booktrader, only to trade an option every now and then. I use a 1 click buy with an attached stop.
if you like range charts, i been using atas, and they have some interesting range chart styles. My favorite is Range x. Also the delta you described in range chart, atas has a zig zag pro that displays it in this way. I use to use those footprint charts like you. i often look for b and p patterns for reversals. thanks for the video.
@@jan7356 lol this reply was when things were going well for me. No longer the case. I don’t sweat bullets for short moves any more. Good luck if you are. Most fail. Also quantower tower is free with AMP if your doing futures. Does pretty much everything what atas does. Atas is free for crypto which is nice.
@@jjjensen9493 I am sorry to hear that scalping didn't work out for you. I personally would say, try to stick with it, maybe join a group like TRG who can help you. And yes, I am with AMP, but unfortunately quantower only works with the CQG feed and not with Rithmic. CQG has no MBO, so no legit large order size reconstruction, which is something I need. I hope AMP will eventually make quantower available for Rithmic. Or maybe I get another sub account for CQG. Quantower looks good, but ATAS has features like Cluster Search and Tape Patterns.

@@jjjensen9493 Well, In the last few years, I got to know a bunch of people personally who are still in the game. But they aren't scalping. By the way, what happened to John Grady?
Here is something that might do what you are asking. We can’t provide any other help with this but it has been worked on here. github.com/FrozenTundraTrader/sierrachart/blob/main/JIGSAW_Export.cpp
Do you think Jigsaw is good for scalping option on Tesla, etc.? I checked out their pricing and they have different price with different levels of education. I am fairly new to trading ( just over a year), which package you recommend? Thanks
It is used mostly for futures market. Works on stocks but they need to have pretty tight bid/ask spread or it won't work properly. Also only some data providers are supported. Options are not supported on jigsaw's platform. If I trade an option I normally use IBKR platform booktrader on the right of my screen.
Awesome video; more please!!! Are the footprint and range charts on jigsaw useable too? Did you move from tradingview to sierra charts? How about footprints on tradingview; useable? Thanks for your content 🙏🏽
Thanks Ramin. No they are still in beta which is why I use Sierra. One day if they get the same customization/important features it would be a no brainer to use only 1 platform. No footprints on TV, I only use it for simple 30m, daily chart battle zones.
Hello bro. I trade small cap stocks. I am often finding that the stock is leaving without me as when I hit my hotkey it is saying "update" in a blue button. By the time i drag my mouse and click update, the stock has gone and i have not been filled. Any idea which settings i could use to stop this happening? My hotkey is buy limit on the bid +/- .02 on TWS. Cheers
My god. Is this level 3 information? Can you get order filled as fast as you get that market information? This is changing my game entirely. I will certainly look into it this is insane.
@@VerrilloTrading Yes that's what i grasped from doind a bit of research but it is so much better than looking at a level 2 tape and then having charts on the side. IT basically shows volume, spread bid/ask and all in a very smart, fast to understand when having to do time critical desicions. It's awesome.
Yes but in my opinion it would fall short in the markets we get these days. You can write a code to execute a certain trade but that trade will only work when a certain context is present. Discretionary trading is still big and in my opinion beats the average coder. Trading is all about efficiency and being slightly better than average.
This is the furthest I've seen from the good old K.I.S.S. method i.e = keep it simple stupid. Screen time with japanese candles, volume, support and resistance (plus news, sentiment ect...) is all you need.

if i can give you my 2cents.....switch to heatmap and bubbles, you get crazy staring at level2 and time and sales, even footprint isn't same level of detail....with heampat you can do everything

how did you find your mentor?
Keyboard shortcut in Sierra: Move stops to price. Assigned to a key on my g13, has exactly the same functionality.
It moves to what price exactly?
@@VerrilloTrading whichever price my mouse is hovering over. 2 shortcuts, one to move all stops and another to move all targets

Can you show how you got the volume column on booktrader?
Just turn it on in the settings.

Not really because FX is not centralized. Volume is not reliable in FX.

The first thing I'd say is don't chase the market. If you missed your trade you missed it and move on to the next one.
Change refresh time on DOM to whatever you want. I have my DOM set to 10 ms and my charts to 250 or so.
