Nice video, but can you show how to advance the warp? I have read the manual, but can't see how it works when one end of the warp is tied to the warp bar.
Hi there. I've just watched this short tutorial about 60 times ( yes, 60 - ask my partner), and it's actually not that instructive. I have this loom sitting on my table right now, and I'm about ready to pour gas on it and set it ablaze. Is there any other tutorial out there that can address someone like me who has absolutely no experience with weaving?
Why make a video like this and leave so much information out? The warping sequence is not fully filmed or explained. Then when it comes time to weave, it does not show how to START. How do I adjust tension? How do I get an even spread of my warp? Why are these things important? Frustrating.
Virginia Tullock More detailed instructions are available, and we’re happy to send you those. You can email us at info@dickblick.com to request those, and they are also available on the Schacht Spindle website. These instructions and diagrams detail using the thumbscrews to adjust the tension bar and using a heavy yarn to make a twined edge across the bottom of the warp for even spacing.
hi i am having alot of trouble starting the weaving on this loom. The instructions that came with the loo are very vague as well as this video is there any way to get more in-depth detailed instructions?
+eFANTASTICOO The Schacht website has a lot more instructional material on their website, here: schachtspindle.com/product-support/ If you have more specific questions, please feel free to contact the Blick Product Information Department at 800-933-2542 or contact Schact: schachtspindle.com/contact/
Sharon Railsback The spacing you’ll want to use will depend on the yarn you’re using. To get a basic idea, you can take your warp and wrap it around a ruler with the warp wraps touching, and then count how many threads take up 1 centimeter. Then use that number to determine how many warps threads per inch you will put on the loom. Keep in mind that if you’re using a really chunky weft, you many need fewer warp threads, or with a fine weft you may need more. For any additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
+Mallory Evelyn Once you reach the heddles, release the tension and move the warp yarn around the loom pull the unused lengths down into place. Then reapply the tension and start weaving. Here are written directions that may help with my explanation: schachtspindle.com/pdfs/tapestry-loom.pdf. If you have additional questions, you can reach Blick Product Information at 1-800-933-2542 or info@dickblick.com. Thanks!
This seems like a video for experienced weavers who have just purchased this particular loom yet would an experienced weaver purchase this loom? I'm not sure who it is aimed at.
+Scott Cowan We have both experienced and new weavers purchasing this loom, as well as schools and art centers. It is an easy to use loom that can grow with the artist as more intricate patterns and weaving styles are leaned. Ben Dillon First, loosen the thumbscrews on the tension bar counter-clockwise, and shift the tension bar down a bit. Then, from the back, pull the warp bar up to re-position your project. Re-adjust the tension bar, tighten the thumbscrews, and you’re done! If you would like additional assistance, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information team at 1-800-933-2542.

Great video, looking to watching more videos about weaving.
Is the manual available at Schacht's website or somewhere else online?
Wow, that loom is bigger than I thought it would be. Is that the 25" one? I'm thinking of getting a loom, but space is an issue.

"That's all there is to it", she says. How very, very frustrating! I agree that there is soooo much left out. This video is next to worthless.
What is the spacing measures between the threads or yarn warps

what happens once your weave reaches the heddles. Do you just have to stop using them, or can you shift the weave down somehow?

Fair enough. Thanks.
How wonderfully complicated ..... !
Nice visual.
So how do you rotate a long weaving project on the loom
Ben Dillon First, loosen the thumbscrews on the tension bar counter-clockwise, and shift the tension bar down a bit. Then, from the back, pull the warp bar up to re-position your project. Re-adjust the tension bar, tighten the thumbscrews, and you’re done! If you would like additional assistance, please feel welcome to contact our Product Information team at 1-800-933-2542.
All products are available at Blick Art Materials.
Honestly there is so little information on this video . Please make a video that shows more! This is so frustrating!
