Who is walking around it at night? It only occurs at night. All the possible scientific explanations, temperature change, vibration, moisture are not likely causes when not a single other item moves. Reason dictates something else would be also effected. As the item that moves is particularly large and heavy the small, light stuff should be positively flying round the room. I'd like to see if it still moves if it's put in a different cabinet. If it always turns around, if it's turned around by the person who locks up would it then not move? Definitely strange & worthy of more thought than you've given, don't you think? It goes without saying the obvious potential causes, such as your suggestion would be considered first.
