  • For the ancient people of Kemet, The winged Egyptian goddess Ma’at symbolized truth, justice and balance. In the Egyptian mythology, the goddess Ma’at represent order on a social, personal and even cosmic level, she is the deity who regulated the relationship between the gods and the people and between opposite genders. And because of that, Maat in a way kept a mutual relationship between male and female divinities. In the Egyptian pantheon of gods is known as the beloved daughter of the sun god Ra present at the moment of creation. Among the Egyptian gods and goddesses, Ma’at has probably the most recognizable appearance as she often depicted as a woman with outstretched wings wearing an ostrich plume on her head, or just as an ostrich feather alone that conveys her presence. Ma’at is believed that the Ten Commandments of the Christian Bible were inspired from the 42 principles of Ma’at. These represent altogether an ancient ethical every Egyptian citizen was expected to follow through their respective life. According to the principles of Ma’at, they were to act honorably and sincerely when dealing with matters regarding life itself and the people around them. There’s that much stories about Ma’at, but the most important role of this Egyptian deity was the she occupied in the afterlife in the hall of the two truths, which is mentioned in the book of the dead. The feather of Ma’at was used to judge the souls of the dead in order to see whether or not they were burdened with sins, therefore see whether or not they will reach the paradise. It’s unfortunate that during the Greco-Roman period, Ma’at seemed to have lost her central role in the Egyptian religion, and her functions were taken over by the Egyptian goddess Isis.
In summary, the goddess Maat could be compared to a good angel, she walked with one through life, until that person go into the afterlife.

To those that think this is fiction.
Its not. Its important to know ones own heart. Within it is truth and survival. It it's our driving force. However, the mind plays an important role in how we move.
There are two hemispheres of the brain.
Keeping them in balance is of the utmost importance before we act.

The pale Ptolemy usurped the laws of Ma'at. Moses was exiled because he could not follow the laws of Ma'at. He and his apostates could only recall 10 of the 42 laws of Ma'at. Jews are apostates. Ma'at is Mom. She is embedded in every heart. She is wife of Thoth, or thought. She is daughter of RA who is exemplified as the Sun. She is the arbiter of our egress and entrance. Praise all true knights of the Holy Grail, no matter their exterior. Thoth or thought is the scribe of Ma'at. Religion has degenerated as has our own cosmology.

What you refer to as god’s of ancient Kemet,, were actually representatives of nature. As well as representatives of masculine and feminine energies of nature (Think Ying and Yang. Not human male or female). These representatives of nature were not men or women. But the anthropomorphizing of these male and female characters,, were used to express an aspect of nature.

I was going to write a whole "How I'd do the Universal Monsters better" type rant, but it was turning into an essay.
Long story short and skipping to the relevant part: I think it would be cool if the Universal take on Imhotep the Living Mummy was a good guy trying to bring Ma'at by returning Egypts stollen artifacts and the reason he becomes a bad guy is not because he's a dead dude trying to resurrect his dead GF inside another dudes GF, but instead because finding this girl and trying to bring his GF back through her goes against Ma'at and is a betrayal of his original purpose in being resurrected.

Why do you depict this great Ancient Kemetic Goddess as a European/Arab looking woman?
    What's WRONG with you?
Why do you continue with the false and post colonial impression that Ancient Kemetic people were Europeans aka Caucasians? Melanin African people were the people of Ancient Kemet. Not Arabs and not Caucasians.
The Caucasian race was still evolving from Neanderthals to humans during their time in the Caucas mountains and caves when this great Ancient African civilization was at its peak! 🎉❤
