  • A quick video on how to tie Naqshibandi Sufi Turban (Imamah)
    The Turban is not only worn by Sufi's, or by a particular school of thought, however it is a massive Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad S.AW. and we should try our best to keep this Sunnah.

    Thank you for sharing this generous demonstration.
    I once had my turban tied tight one of our senior mureeden told me that Islam is a religion of ease and "lotf", not a religion of being hard and intense. Since then and I try to make it a bit loose and not very tight.
    Thanks again.

      You are most welcome my brother. Alhumdolilah your Senior is correct and I have tied my turban to the comfort of my own head. It is like us all wearing clothes, we are all covered but some wish to wear different colours or designs. With the Turban I would say the main intention is that you are following the Sunnah of our Rasul SAW and then comfort can come after iA. WS

    Aslaam-o-Alikum Brother Omar, our ancestors have been wearing this hat for more then a century. We make it at home from pure cloth and cotton. This is very heart warming to see you wearing same style of hat with four pillars. We belong to sufi Qadri tariqat from Bharchundi Sharif, Daharki, Sindh Pakistan. Our forefathers were migrants but they never revealed where they were from. Can you help us understand the roots of where else is this cap used sacredly? Thanks

    Wasalaams brother Imran and Ameen to your very kind words :)
    In order to stop your turban from sliding there's a couple things you could try Inshallah. First off you can try tying the turban tighter, like in the video I'm always holding the cloth with tension, there's no slack. that way it could keep the turban secure. Secondly if you wear a small cotton topi/hat underneath which is recommended it completely holds the turban in place. Forgive me if this has not been helpful.
    Allah bless you.WS

    Salaams Bilal. From what I have learnt from my sheikh the Sunnah is to use a turban length of an odd number of metres. For instance 3, 5, 7, 9 etc
    When praying and making sujood alhumdolilah the turban has never got in my way and I am still able to prostate properly with my forehead touching the ground. If you are after more information or hidayah then please ask someone who is more learned than myself for my knowledge is but a drop from an endless ocean. Ws

      omar sharif I was wondering if the measurement was in cubits.. I had heard the measurements to be between 7 cubits (arms length) to 11 cubits Wa Allahu Alam.

    • @n.s.5278
      @n.s.5278 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mohammedazharuddin2902yes, the classic measurements are dhira'a which is cubit, around 60cm. The sources mention 6 and 7 cubits for the medium sunna turban, without strong hadith evidence, and l think it was 11 for the larger, but forget. 9 meters is a bit too long.

    any tips on preventing turban from moving forward when making rukoo/sujood- esp when wearing hooded jackets,etc.... seems to get packed up around neck area, which pushes turban upwards. help much appreciated.
