Old guy here with 7 decades of experience in business (good), investing (challenging), and war (horrible so oppose & resist it). So I well remember "Texas in the 70s"... and New York in the 70's, the city and the markets, ouch! Beware because while history doesn't necessarily repeat, it at least rhymes. Anyone saying that war or inflation helps the economy never lived it. And narratives are not your friend.

I don't understand the problem with zero interest rates in Japan and the lack of growth and inflation. People have been calling for that economy to fall off a cliff since the 90s and they are still a highly developed country with high quality of life. Why would the banks grow fast when the population doesn't grow? The ultimate goal isn't growth at all cost, it's quality of life.

Funny theyll do these things for reits, but never for an individual homeowners.
