    Now this is a proper bike check. Real insight into the geometry and set-up in a way that meaningfully links back to the way the rider wants their bike to feel. So many pro bike checks are basically "Allow me list you my sponsors' parts..."

      Seems like a lot of people feel that. Idk what it is but something about cube just doesn't grab my attention, like they seem very plain. Propain bikes on the other hand just look so damn good.

    Gotta admit, those propain bikes sure look sweet. Love all the dtc brands these days. Man this is what a bike check should be like. Remy knows his shit clearly.

      @rolux4853 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Forgive me my ignorance, but what are dtc brands?

    • @dylan-5287
      @dylan-5287 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rolux4853 direct to consumer brands, like canyon, commencal, yt, vitus, etc. Cut out the middle man and the consumer gets better prices while the the manufacturer makes more. Works great if you're handy and good with mechanics otherwise a bike shop can be nice for issues. Personally I ride vitus.

    • @rolux4853
      @rolux4853 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dylan-5287 ah thanks man!
      I do know direct to consumer brands, but I didn’t know the abbreviation.
      Personally I ride a Nukeproof Mega and I really don’t know where to put them.
      They aren’t a standard bike shop brand, but neither are they a straight direct to consumer brand.
      Maybe one could consider them the house brand of chain reaction cycles.
      Since I bought only the frame from Nukeproof, the bike is custom build by myself, so I gladly don’t have to rely on mechanics.
      Just last year I finally learned how to fully disassemble, service and repair shocks and forks myself, which was the last big think I didn’t trust myself enough to do it.
      I guess what I want to say, is that buying dtc should be a pretty good fit for me, if I ever go for a „full bike“ again.
      The last fully assembled bike I bought in my life was in fact a dtc, it was a YT Noton 2010. (man time is really flying..)
      After that I build every bike myself, from the frame up.

    Cam Zink did a pretty good mullet "test"/review video, that was pretty convincing. I've been feeling pretty 'experimental' over the last few years when it comes to bikes/gear. I'd like to try that kind of a setup, but not sure how easy it's going to be to track down a single 650B rear wheel that'll work in the back of my Firebird, and especially, one that's cost effective.

    Valve cups .... i would never use water bottle on the frame , only in backpack ... and i would never use so much spacers under the stem , rather i would use a higher rise handlebar... or maybe i would use a hydraulic rotor for the rear brake , the front brake pipe would pass in the top of the stem , no star nut , instead a head lock , a long screw down in the fork neck and remote controls for dropper and the derailleur , and voila , infinite bar spin on a trail bike , who have such a bike ?
