JKT48 (read as "J. K. T. forty-eight") is an Indonesian-Japanese idol girl group whose name is derived from its based city of Jakarta and the Japanese idol group AKB48. Formed in 2011, the group is the first AKB48 sister group outside Japan and adopts the concept of "idols you can meet",[1] before switching to "idols that will come to meet you" since April 2018. The group opened their own theater on the 4th floor of fX Sudirman shopping mall in early September 2012, where fans can attend daily performances every day except Monday. The theater was built as a close replica to the AKB48 Theater in Akihabara

JKT48 is the first overseas sistergroups of AKB48. JKT48 is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. While the AKB48 is based in Japan. JKT48 formed in 2011 and they're still exist. . beside JKT48, AKB48 have a lot of national and international sistergroups. (National : SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48, & STU48) (International : JKT48 in Indonesia, BNK48 in Thailand, MNL48 in The Philippines, AKB48 Team SH in China, AKB48 Team TP in Taiwan, CGM48 in Thailand, and KLP48 in Malaysia) Also disbanded sistergroups like SDN48 in Japan, SGO48 in Vietnam, DEL48 & MUB48 in India).. SNH48 is former sistergroup of AKB48 before they decided to become independent group in China and make their own sistergroups. Because of that AKB48 Team SH formed to replace SNH48 position in AKB48Groups.
