As a pagan living in Israel, the autumn equinox always falls close to the Jewish holiday called Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year). One of the customs and symbols of Rosh Hashanah is the apple, and even more specifically, dipping the apple in honey (for a sweet year). The apple also symbolizes abundance in Jewish mythology

We use flash paper for Letting Go rituals. We use a large clear glass container with a small candle in the bottom. Each woman writes something on a strip of flash paper (from a magic shop). In popcorn style (when ready, not around the circle), each speaks about what she is releasing, then drops the paper into the glass. Flash paper is heat sensitive and burns immediately and dramatically. Some women choose to do this silently which works as well. After we all burn our papers we each may state an intention that fills the psychic space we just opened up. Blessed be!

The dual working with the two candles and spring water resonated with me quite a bit. Ive been letting ideas brew for how to work with the balancing and then shifting energies of equinox this year. A trip into the local mountains is being plotted and a hunt for mountain ash trees for gathering leaves and berries as well as spending some quality time in the high places before the winter descends upon them, and a stop at a spring that is in the same area to gather water too. Then bringing all those treasures and energies home to encorporate into practice, workings and ritual.

Thank you for this video, Hearth! Honestly I’m so excited for Samhain and Mabon. Samhain last year was my first ever celebration as a witch and it makes me so happy to see how far I have come and how long it has been. It feels like just yesterday I discovered witchcraft and now I worship several deities and have a practice I enjoy.

December last year my life had major changes, I got out of a abusive relationship and have been healing and also been paying all the bills on my own. I've kept all of my fur and feather babies safe. I have been able to keep our home and the bills paid. You inspired me to really be thankful for all the blessings and to make sure negativity is cleansed away. This is so helpful! I have never thought of using the leaves of any herb to spread water/oil to use the properties of that herb and water/oil, that's amazing.

Mabon is probably my favorite sabbath next to yule. It's all about feng shui for me, I love clearing energies and welcoming in the new energies. ☯️
I really appreciate these ideas. I tend to overlook Mabon. I am a teacher, so I am super busy at this time. I am also American, and we have Thanksgiving in November, so Mabon just doesn't hit the same for me. These ideas, however, would be good for reflection. Something I think is important to do.
Oh I really love the attraction and removal ritual. Since I do a lot of water magic I'll probably do something similar except by dissolving my intentions in Moon water.

Your aura is a radiant blue purple looking beautiful just got rid of a pesky mischievous house brownie he kept hiding my keys amongst other items I literally saw his shadow and then him scramble across the floor I always knew they existed but actually seeing one was incredible I was in disbelief at first wish I could of got its picture it looked at me chuckled and laughed he's now outside somewhere he was very ugly tan brownish green and wrinkled with black beady eyes there is so much that exists still I haven't seen a fairy though just spirits and demons and angels

Love the strips and using both candles to invite in and letting go. I will be adding that and the bowl spread to my practice. Thank you so much. I took witchcraft classes with Laurie Cabot earlier this year which was amazing to be able to do as she is locally a famous witch and I was always looking to see her as a child (I’m now 50🤣) interesting to come full circle. Including Mabon only three more holidays to go and I will have made it through my first year as witch. Whew, it's been fun but exhausting.
I love this video as the fall harvest festivals are my favorite holidays. I especially enjoyed the abundance ritual using sun water and plan to use this around my own house this fall as I'm beginning some work on the house. The Equinox is a set date, however, Mabon is often celebrated as more then the equinox alone and for many is a harvest festival and season. I personally celebrate sabbats as an extended period of time, part way between Lammas and the Equinox I will begin and then part way to Samhain I will switch to Samhain. Everyone will be different, this is just my way of celebrating ☺️
