From my experience of nhs, it is very patchy. I use the nhs mental health services. Cmht are terrible. Plus, their is a lack of long term community services, such as home help, preventative care, voluntary sectors, etc.

A lot of medical insurances do not cover people fully. They will try and get out of paying for a lot and people have to remortgage their houses. Also medications do not have a price cap and you can pay a lot of money that shouldn't cost that much.
You have no idea what a private health care system would be like! In the US, the biggest reason for people going bankrupt is because of unpaid medical bills. Privatising healthcare would introduce huge amount of fraud. In the US, there are billions wasted every year in medical fraud.
