It’s a bamboo muzzle. Since she was turned demon she can no longer speak, and was given the muzzle to keep her from tasting human blood, I believe. 🤔 In case she attacks someone probably. Not folklore to my knowledge; I think they just made the muzzle from whatever materials they had.
