Before his buff, I built a super fun Wiccan-War Machine deck. Some easy curve cards, Turn 4 Wiccan, turn 5 I have 7 energy to play Wave + War Machine. Turn 6 I have 8 energy so I can play Iron Man in one lane and Infinaut in another. Super fun deck, I reccomend.
I know some people are frustrated with the Storm + Legion combo but I really hope they don’t nerf WM. If they really feel that it is becoming a problem, I would rather them address Legion’s interaction with flooding (perhaps make it refresh the flooding so it doesn’t lock out of final turn or something). War Machine has become a big enabler for a large amount of historically underperforming/niche cards and I think that is healthy for the game overall
I actually don't mind this combo when I'm on Defense - I can see it coming and retreat for not very many points. And If he storms and snaps I know what's coming so I can back out at 1 cube most games. The combos that steal your full 8 are the ones I'm scared of.

I wonder why they did that. WM now is a cheat code. He has everything. Good stats. Avoids a ton of locations. Can bypass a bunch of opponent control cards and so on. He should be either a low cost card with low stats and many counters. For example even an 1 so that you can kill him with monger, or a 2 or 3 drop so that he can be counterable earlier. Where he stands now he is the most broken card even seen in the game. He will get nerfed but I wonder why we have to pass through this cancer
I actually do play ebony maw, in zoo. He's great. Squirrel girl, Shanna and nightcrawler all help put power in his lane later and I try to stack him w dazzler or antman early. Surprisingly effective

When War Machine came out he was the main card that got me to my first infinite. Electro into prof x into war machine into Ebony maw and infinaut. Was so good. Had Storm in there as well.

It's wild that simply making War Machine an ongoing vs an on reveal dramatically changed the card and made him way more viable and just not useless. Makes you wonder why they never thought of that during the making/testing/post-release of the card lol

i played ebony maw in an old version of my forge onslaught deck. i had no wsy of getting to the maw lane; i just had enough small cards to consistently fill it on turn 3 with ~17/18 power yeah card still sucks though when not played in lockdown
what if they just nerf legion to a 6 cost and buff his power, that way he can still counter Magik but that stops the storm, war machine, legion combo in a regular 6 turn game

Is it just me or does new War Machine feel bad coming out same week as Madame Web? Like he just feels better than her unless you’re playing move and even then he’s still just a great statted card at 4/7 for what he now does.
I get the cull in the war zoo deck but why in the wartron deck? Wouldn't crossbones be better? If you miss the war machine in your draw you can only play cull on your nebula if it is down and not in your maw lane, you can still play crossbones on any lane you are winning to make it even harder for your opponent to flip it.

So it seems like it’s been forever since they’ve done a series drop. What do people think the chances are that something like war machine would drop in within the next couple of weeks if not months?
The ongoing effect makes it really unique - I think they should keep him ongoing. The problem is his power/cost, he's too much tempo for what he does. They either should nerf him to 5 cost (a boring nerf) or nerf his power to like 3 (since he gives all your cards Jeff's passive). Now that the tempo is back in check, tech cards will be able to disrupt their gameplay without losing too much tempo.
I just dont like this change because it was an ota that made a card busted without having any way of getting him so if you wanna have a chance at the fun new version of the card but dont already have them or arent just like sitting on a stock pile of tokens, you just cant even have a chance because there's no spotlight cache which, for me atleast, is the most reliable way i can get cards. makes me just kinda not wanna play
