Fellow Lithuanian here. Fantastic video! Thank you for making these videos - they are a treat. Been living abroad for the last couple of years and felt like visiting my mother in law from Klaipėda again. You missed the best part - it's the beach! A quick comment about the soviet residential buildings. These were all mass built following the same single design approved by some committee up in Moscow. This is why they all look identical no matter where you find them! They were designed having speed and scale of the construction in mind - imagine IKEA for residential neighbourhoods. The conditions to live there are not great but on the positive side - every family in the USSR were given a flat and a small holiday house out of town for free! My future recommendation for another town in Lithuania is Kaunas. It's a small medieval city situated at the confluence of two rivers, had it's biggest burst of growth during the years of Russian Empire rule when it was turned into a fortress with 9 military fortifications surrounding the city. It also served as a temporary capital during the years of Vilnius occupation.

I love how you always look at every place with such positivity and curiosity. Also, something about listening to you is incredibly relaxing 😄 Someone should make a list of all the places that have gotten the "yeah I'd go there" haha

Klaipėda is a very nice town to live in. I used to live there for three years. The best thing is that during summer you can just hop on on a city bus or a car and be at a beach in less than 15 minutes.

The Grand Duchy of Lithuania was a European state that lasted from the 13th century. The Grand Duchy expanded to include large portions of the former Kievan Rus' and other neighbouring states, including what is now Belarus and parts of Ukraine, Latvia, Poland and Russia. At its greatest extent, in the 15th century, it was the largest state in Europe. www.pinterest.com/pin/443604632021914463/

If You ever decide to check the 2nd largest city, Kaunas - it's famous for it's art deco buildings. I find them lovelly, not exactly sure how it translates to google street
