The varna system/caste was basically formed according to the profession of the person and nor according to the birth of the individual
    Bramhanas: the teachers and priests
    Kshatriyas: the warriors
    Vaishyas: the merchants and traders
Shudras: the manual labourers and artisans.
Though it was fluid during the initial period it gradually became a static system and from profession it moved on to become birth based

The ancient India one is just speculation. Because we can't accept it was wrong right from the start. Because if it was wrong right from the start the origin story of humans from different body parts of brahma doesn't work. That would be a very big flaw of Hinduism right from the get go. It's a taboo.
Also, the modern India one is true only is urban areas. Only in a few states like Kerala, Maharashtra and West Bengal the caste doesn't dictate your social status in the rural areas. Even there it's not perfect. We are way better than before but if you say that today caste is only for reservation, you are being wilfully ignorant and blind.

Here is a list of the countries that have territorial and border disputes with China,..
Japan :1: Parts of the East China Sea, particularly the Senkaku Islands. Also, on occasion, the Ryukyu Islands, on the grounds that the completely independent Kingdom of Ryukyu was once a vassal state of China. The Kingdom of Ryukyu terminated tributary relations with China in 1874.
Vietnam :2: China claims large parts of Vietnam on historical precedent (Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644). Also, Macclesfield Bank, Paracel Islands, parts of the South China Sea and the Spratly Islands.
India :3: China illegally occupies 38,000 sq km (Aksai Chin) of land in Jammu & Kashmir. It also holds 5,180 km of Indian territory in Pakistan occupied Kashmir under Sino-Pak agreement of 1963. At the heart of Sino-Indian boundary dispute is the issue of Arunachal Pradesh (90,000 sq km), which China describes as "Southern Tibet". Beijing is demanding that at least the Tawang Tract of Arunachal Pradesh, if not the whole of the state, be transferred to China.
Nepal :4: China claims parts of Nepal dating back to the Sino-Nepalese War in 1788-1792. China claims they are part of Tibet, therefore part of China.
North Korea :5: Baekdu Mountain and Jiandao. China has also on occasion claimed all of North Korea on historical grounds (Yuan Dynasty, 1271-1368).
The Philippines :6: Parts of the South China Sea, particularly Scarborough Shoal and the Spratly Islands. Russia :: 160,000 square kilometres still unilaterally claimed by China, despite China signing several agreements. Singapore :: Parts of the South China Sea.
South Korea :7: Parts of the East China Sea. China has also on occasion claimed all of South Korea on historical grounds (Yuan Dynasty, 1271-1368).
Bhutan :8: Bhutanese enclaves in Tibet, namely Cherkip Gompa, Dho, Dungmar, Gesur, Gezon, Itse Gompa, Khochar, Nyanri, Ringung, Sanmar, Tarchen and Zuthulphuk. Also Kula Kangri and mountainous areas to the west of this peak, plus the western Haa District of Bhutan.
Taiwan :9: China claims all of Taiwan, but particular disputes are: Macclesfi eld Bank, Paracel Islands, Scarborough Shoal, parts of the South China Sea and the Spratly Islands. The Paracel Islands, also called Xisha Islands in Vietnamese, is a group of islands in the South China Sea whose sovereignty is disputed among China, Taiwan and Vietnam disputes with Burma.
Kazakhstan :10: There are continual unilateral claims by China on Kazakhstan territory, despite new agreements, in China's favour signed every few years.
Laos :11: China claims large areas of Laos on historical precedent (China's Yuan Dynasty, 1271-1368).
Brunei :12: Over Spratly Islands. The Spratly Islands is a disputed group of more than 750 reefs, islets, atolls, cays, and islands in the South China Sea. About 45 islands are occupied by small numbers of military forces from the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Brunei has also claimed an exclusive economic zone in the southeastern part of the Spratlys encompassing just one area of small islands on Louisa Reef. This has led to escalating tensions.
Tajikistan :13: Chinese claims based on historical precedent (Qing Dynasty, 1644-1912).
Cambodia :14: China has, on occasion, claimed parts of Cambodia on historical precedent (China's Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644).
Indonesia :15: Parts of the South China Sea.
Kyrgyzstan :16: China claims the majority of Kyrgyzstan on the grounds that it was unfairly forced to cede the territory (which it had formerly conquered) to Russia in the 19th century.
Malaysia :17: Over Parts of the South China Sea, particularly the Spratly Islands.

Mongolia :18: China claims all of Mongolia on historical precedent (Yuan Dynasty, 1271-1368). In fact, Mongolia, under Genghis Khan, occupied China.
Afghanistan :19: Afghan province of Bandakhshan (despite a bilateral treaty of 1963, China still encroaches on Afghan territory).
Russia :20: 160,000 square kilometers still unilaterally claimed by China, despite China signing several agreements.
YourBedroom :21: China will claim on your bedroom soon.

22:10 i m from higher caste and here in india cutoff depends on caste
for example if you apply for NEET( medical exam for mbbs) so the person with high caste have to score more marks acc. to last year 615/720
and if you are from lower caste you have to score near 400/720 and if you are from middle caste you have to score approx 500/720
and if you are poor but belonging from higher caste so you have to score nearly 590/720 and it doesnt good for higher caste peoples
but peoples from high caste are generally rich so they didnt really care about that
but if u are poor + high caste that mean you have to work really hard to get any job and its very very difficult to get that
because lower caste people have to score less that 40% but seats are different for different caste
but if any lower caste child score more than higher caste cutoff so they get higher caste seat so that 10x harder to get jobs for higher caste
i really type most so give a heart if you read this

You were spot-on with the information regarding the disposal of ashes and semi-cremated bodies. However, as you know, Ganga starts from a glacier in the Himalayas called Gaumukh in Gangotri. From there till Varanasi (Benaras), no dead bodies or ashes are disposed of. It's only in Benaras where it's considered to be auspicious to die, be cremated and to get your physical remains to be submerged in the Ganga. Also since the water isn't still and is ever flowing before that, it deposits most of its impurities in the banks like a natural sedimentary filtration system.
Another factual correction. Siddhartha, better known as Gautama Buddha was from Lumbini, Nepal and not India. He attained enlightenment in India and imparted sermons in India, but originally he was the price of Kapilavastu, present day Nepal.

Regarding Caste System in ancient time (Vedic Period), Caste is defined on the bassis of the profession you choose ex - if you want to study or preech knowledge you are a Brahmin regardless of what your parents profession is, best example is (Maharishi Valmiki The author of Ramayana he wass born to Shudra (Peasents) family but is considered as Brahmin because of the profession he choose), but after vedic period and lot of interventions from Attackers the caste system became rigid and was considered from birth and became ill practice but today slowly and slowly we are getting rid from it but it stiill prevails in present era.

We can't blame others for our caste system. It was a mistake of our own civilization. Let's genuinely accept our mistake. We wasted generations worth of human resources by pigeon holing people into professions of their caste instead of interests. We ourselves are the culprit😢, please. We are doing way better now. Indian Culture without caste is way better and beautiful.
Regarding caste rigidity, it was Rishi Manu's doing in his infamous work called "Manu-Smriti" where he explicitly mentions that different castes should not intermarry. That's where it all started. Manu-Smriti was written around 200 AD, much after the Vedas were but much before Islam even started. A genetic study of Indians conducted by National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (just search '1513197113') reveals that caste rigidity started 1700 years ago, a few centuries after Rishi Manu's writing, it's not a coincidence.
So, in conclusion, caste is completely our fault. Let's lift the burden of our own responsibility instead of putting it on the Islamic invaders and the Britishers. Let's fix this.

@Alexios I Komnenos Wasn't Endogamy bad? you can't just justify it by starting yourself with a strong word (BS). First you say a Brahmin can be a Shudra. Then you use an oxymoron "Brahmin Farmer" so a Brahmin preserves his caste identity despite his occupation. That's exactly what Caste System is: Identity Preservation. I never connected it with Jobs. I know the Job connections weren't absolute, a Brahmin could be businessman and what not, but the identity was absolute. He/She was born a Brahmin and died a Brahmin despite what he/she did. Endogamy preserves that identity.
Chhatrapati Shivaji was born a Shudra and died a Shudra despite him being the king of the most powerful kingdom of his time. The Brahmins of his kingdom (Gaga Bhatt) had the audacity to use his feet (his toe) instead of his finger to put a tilak on his head during a ceremony. So please stop this caste apologist non sense. It was bad. BAD. Way more bad than people who take a blind pride in Indian culture would ever admit. I like Indian Culture, born in it, raised in it, but I will never defend the caste system. Sorry.

With regards to Russia, yes still. 1971 war was very similar to current Russia/Ukraine conflict. West Pakistan was committing genocide against East Pakistanis, killing and raping in millions. They were pouring into India as refugees. India invaded East Pakistan to help Mukti Bahini (the local militia fighting form independence from Pakistan). US and UK sent their naval fleets to attack Indian cities as they were supporting Pakistan, wrong side of history, just as today, by supporting Ukraine. Soviets sent their nuclear submarines to help India and kept the US and UK fleet at bay. Finally Pakistan surrendered and East Pakistan was liberated and Bangladesh was born as an independent country. Extreme misinformation and propaganda by the media in the US (and also EU which literally acts as a puppy of the US) is comical at best and only prolonging the conflict and making people suffer. Outside the western bubble, people are seeing this conflict very differently and looking at NATO in a bad light. But it is not new and has happened before multiple times. And again it will be seen as a mistake retrospectively after a couple of decades.

Ganges has been a sacred and Holy river and you can obviously drink its water. If you collect it from clean places. But what more Important is that in last couple of years it's become more clean and pure because of major operations for its cleansing. And it's obviously sacred so you can dip or sip easily in it without any issues. People say that even if you have a few diseases it could be washed away with water, such is its mythological Importance.

There is nothing called HINDUISM we have Sanathan Dharma. This term HINDUISM as a religion was popularised by the Britishers, by the way in ancient times Parisians used to call Indians as Hindus .
And we also don't have this so called caste system instead we have Jaati and Varna Vyavastha which is totally different from this so called caste system which was popularised by the Britishers.

Varnas form of the system slowly morphed into a caste system 2000-2500 years ago by the upper class(or the people who decide things). It was not bad, to begin with. All you needed to do was fill in the role you were good at. Then it started to become the caste system. After many changes 1500 years ago it became a solid caste system. But then the British just used the opportunity to make the gap wider and poured more oil to make the fire burn brighter. British did not create the caste system. They just used the concept which was already there. All the proofs are all over the historic texts.

But on the news they are also telling government is taking extreme precautions for a probable wave in June. I think if nothing major happens in two months it's safe to say you can travel with no worries. If you come to India do visit Ajanta and Ellora caves, there is absolutely nothing like it in the planet, Taj Mahal is extremely overrated if you ask me.
Regarding caste system, the constitution is made in the favor of lower caste and written in a way to bring the equality. You have reservations in pretty much all fields, government jobs, high positions etc. Current ruling party itself has more than half of the MPs from SC/ST communities who are lower caste. The prime minister Narendra Modi himself is from a backward class lower caste. Modern India is different and becoming progressive. You can roughly compare caste system with racism in western countries. It's not that you see racists everyday and you cannot say everybody are racists in the west but there are still those kind of people and it's still a problem. It's same like that.

Answering your question about cows. Cow fanaticism is something exclusive to northern and western Indian states. Incidentally, these states have predominant vegetarianism. Many of these states have laws against cow slaughtering. You don't usually find pork there too, and sometimes with an alcohol ban. In contrast, in the predominant flesh-eating states like Goa, Kerala, and West Bengal beef is widely available as well as pork and alcohol.

For the caste system laws, there are actually reservations based on it. So a certain percentage of people from those casts HAVE TO be accepted wherever that rule applies. So it does remain in check that people aren't denied because of their caste. There are different percentages of reservations to maintain caste, tribe, economic and gender diversity.

Heyyy i would just like to say something about the caste system. It was not always as rigid as portrayed in the West . It started becoming rigid when the foreign invasions started as the traditions got restricted to communities and it got misinterpreted and became rigid . According to our books the 4 caste are Brahman (the preacher and scholar) Kshatriya ( The warrior/protector) Vaishya ( The merchant/Trader ) Shudra ( The lowly wage worker ) . In none of our religious text it is said that a person born in Brahman family will be a Brahman . For eg. If a Brahman's has a traits of a merchant or wants to business he'll no longer be a Brahman he'll become Vaishya and if i Shudra's son is a good fighter and is courageous his duty is towards protecting the people or their land and not as a lowly wage worker so he'll become of Kshatriya caste . Our caste system divided people varying on their skills and not of birth but was misinterpreted by the people due to continued invasions which dirupted and damaged our civilization and the final nail in coffin came with the British colonization as our system was too complex for them to understand so they rigidified these things in their documents and forcefully implemented them on us to create a division among us , repercussions of which we're seeing today . Hope that clears up the doubts .

One point I'll make quick is about Ganga. As someone who has already been to different parts of Ganga i can say that not all parts of Ganga are polluted. As far as i know Ganga originates from the Gangotri glacier and the water is crystal clear. I'd say Ganga looks clean and the water looks blue down till Rishikesh. Rishikesh is where people burn the bodies of dead people. By the time Ganga reaches Haridwar it's polluted and it gets more polluted by the time it goes into the Bay of Bengal. So if you wanna take a dip in Ganga I'd Rishikesh or somewhere before Rishikesh would be a better place.

Answer for your question sir That beef is consumed in northern India Ans: No, many northern states have banned the beef consumption, and the northern part of Indian states had a anti cow slaughtering act and the one who eats and slaughter the cow will be punished in the respective state ( it differ state to state since the state is having the autonomy to frame its own sects of laws and rules if you see it in southern Indian part especially in Kerala,Telangana,Tamilnadu had a minimal consumption beef at where state didn't framed any law up on them and in kerela there are mostly Christian and Muslim communities and the Hindu dominated areas will be avoid the beef.
