I saved a parakeet from being eaten up by 2 cats. She's a female, she was pretty lonely there for a while, thanks to you tube i found some great vids for my bird. Its been almost a week now & she hasn't stopped chirping, she does talk in front of her mirror lol...

How cute! I did read somewhere that having a lonely bird and a mirror could cause mental unstableness though. They get sad when “the other bird” doesn’t reply or play with them 😕
i got two parkeet at my home her name is sun shine could he is nice to me i love my parkeet
I started playing this on my phone and now my little "Ozzie Osborne" flies over to me and sits on the phone and sings to it. All he has to do is see my phone and he goes crazy. This made him warm up to me and fly on to my finger.

My 3 "babies" love these videos,we play these videos all day sometimes for them,I guess they think they are talking to their friends & relatives...its great,it keeps them chirping ,loudly too!!!
My parakeet, Lemoncake, really loves listening to this, especially after her little boyfriend, Birdbrain, passed away. I am hoping to get her a new friend here fairly soon so she won't be so lonely anymore.

I've had my budgie a little over 2 months and he's JUST now chirping a little bit. I've never known a budgie to be so quiet. I started playing videos like this (thinking that maybe he needed to be shown how to chirp since he was so young and scared when I got him). It's helping.

We had a parakeet when I was growing up. For reasons not real clear I never bought another bird. I love birds singing every morning.
Just bought a albino parakeet yesterday, I named her pearl and she was excited to hear this video. She even sat on my finger and ate seeds out of my hand. I love my bird 🐦

I ended up getting another budgie.. now another cage big enough for them.. wow. getting expensive.. but well worth it.. had one bird.. he was so lonely. I had to get another one.. now when I go out.. I put on a video like this.. and feel okay.. not mean leaving him alone... or now.. them alone.

I have 2 female parakeets at home ava and bubbles I'm in love with them for those that don't know here's how you can tell the difference from a female parakeet to a male parakeet male parakeets there nose with either be blue or they can also be a blueish purple color and female parakeets either have a tan or a pink nose me my mom and brother had 14 parakeets before lol 7 boys and 7 girls we had to get rid of them tho 😭 we just have 2 now we had more parakeets in the past but some died tho bro we had a snow white one and a pure yellow before to they were so pretty my family loves parakeets

The best thing to do for a single parakeet is spend a lot of time with it and interact with it so it gets to know you and you become part of it's flock because they are flock birds and they need companionship by either you as their owner or other members of the budgie family , it's common for budgies/parakeets to feel lonely when by themselves since they naturally live in giant groups in the wild. Playing budgie sounds every so often does help a little with the adjustment to being alone but it's never a good idea to play the sounds non-stop since the birds can understand the vocal noise and it will upset them if they call to the birds in a video and they don't receive a chirp back , also certain sounds can make them angry or scared so be careful of that too.
Not all budgie sounds are playful sounds , some can be territory sounds or cries for help and others are location alerts to find missing flock members.
@@josephbennett3482 thanks... I didn't know some sounds could be bad sounds. I was just happy to see my parakeet jump around and call out to the sounds.
@@lyricistdestroyerqueensbor8782 you want to communicate with your bird sorta you can teach it a certain sound you make when it calls out for you if you leave the room so it knows where you are , or you can play a sound on your phone it's budgies signal that they use to find their flock members it's called: Budgie Recall , the Recall chirp is really loud and it's only used when they want to locate their flock...i highly suggest only doing the Recall sound if they do it first as a way to acknowledge that you are nearby or just simply tell the bird that you hear it by saying I Hear You.
Teach the bird specific words that for certain things especially the No Bite command for when they are being mean and as you say it put the bird in a little timeout then it will learn to not be mean towards you although budgies are pretty sweet birds for the most part.

It’s a great idea to entertain your budgie while out on errands.
While doing anything that doesn't involve them. My budgies prefer the chatty bird videos, they chat along with them!

@@lucas_oliveira7516 Yeah, they're happy for the moment because they're now no longer alone. But after some months they'll really become lonely and depressed because they can't interact with each other. If anything I'd show them the screen too so at least they also see them instead of just hearing.
