I didn't realize submissions could be so long. It's always vague how long the waiting is bc often times we see writers get offers from an agent and the in between process is a bit of mystery and then it's debut year.

I'm assuming you can tell your agent "don't tell me they're interested until there's either an offer or a revision letter"? Because being told they're interested only for it to not make it through the acquisition process sounds horrible.

Yes! You can definitely request what kind of information you want to be told by your agent and even when you want to be updated

I always remind myself that Harry Potter and Stephen King's Carrie both got rejected 13 times before getting accepted. Maybe the number 13 is the lucky submission number! Lol
