Dr. Frank A. Thomas Interviews Dr. Courtney V. Buggs

Dr. Frank A. Thomas announces his transition from the Directorship of the PhD Program in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric and interviews his successor Dr. Courtney V. Buggs. The transition occurred July 1, 2023 and Dr. Buggs is the new director of the program. Dr. Thomas is now directing the Compelling Preaching Initiative at Christian Theological Seminary. Dr. Thomas this was very beautiful conversation and was the first time you were able to talk a lot about your journey and much of what you shared really resonated with me. I appreciate your journey and your candor in giving to us a window into your motivations . I also appreciated your transparency in discussing your wrestling with your leaning towards the intellectual approach to ministry while so much of the Black preaching tradition has centered around other elements germane to the uniqueness of the Black experience in America. These interviews are very helpful. Keep them coming!
